RRiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnggggggg!!!!!!!!!
The first bell of the day. Students of Hillcrest High school bang the doors of their horizontal vaults as they rush to their classrooms. By the end of the bell, the corridors are empty, except for the custodian, constantly sweeping the marbled floors.
Hillcrest High is the most prestigious school in West Burnham, although it was only constructed by the end of the 16th century. Yes, students here are slightly different than before, considering it IS the 17th century, but educators here are no exception; they are as strict as the day is long.
By midday, the lunch room is packed with adolescents. As you enter, the dinner tables are sitted by different "cliques", as the students call them. There's the prominent adolescents, the atheletes, the emotionally disturbed adolescents, the musically inclined, and let's not forget, the common joes, where Leslianne, is sitting.
Leslianne is your typical adolescent. Or so she thinks. Physically, she has long wavy hair that flows to her waist, with sparkly, brown eyes, that matches the colour of her hair. She is also quite smart, as she is a member of the visual arts club, and a writer of the school's weekly publication. She is also a gymnast, but refused to try out for the cheering team, saying they are nothing but "airheads", as Leslianne unusually describes them, waving their "pompoms" in people's faces, constantly reminding everyone how important they are.
She has two bestfriends, Carlina and Mary, who she's known since practically childbirth.
Although she considers herself to be average, quite a few know her, partly because of the fact that she is Stefana's sister. Who's Stefana, you ask? Well, she's the school's head cheerer, and one of the prominents. She's gorgeous, but she's nothing compared to Leslianne. She's conceited, spiteful, an egotistical, evil jerkette, a...
"What the heck is a jerkette, Carly?" Leslie asked, causing Carly to jump from her seat. She had her head in a green notebook, writing non-stop.
"I couldn't think of an old- fashioned , female term for jerk." explained Carly. "And why are you even reading this? This is confidential. PRIBADO. Especially for you - James."
James frowned as his attempt to sneak up on Carly failed. "How in the world did she know that?" James said, seating next to Leslie.
"Just shut up and eat lunch with us," smiled Leslie, eagerly happy to see James.
Jameson, member of the school's athletic team, Carlina's bothersome brother, and Leslianna's infatuation since childhood, just came to the their table, which caused Leslianne to blush and Carly to be nauseous.
"Wait, why are you here? Shouldn't you be over there, beside your repulse- i mean, attractive, girlfriend?" asked Carly, sarcastically rolling her eyes.
"Nah, nothing goes on in there except two things: makeup and gossip..bleh!" James said, pretending to gag.
Jameson's flame, Annaleigh, is besfriends with Stefana, and although a prominent, is not as bad as her. She is still pretty bad, as there are hearsays about her that she repeated the second grade, which is maybe why she still thinks that the world is flat. That's how she is, you get the idea.
"Will you stop writing and eat, for gosh sakes!" Leslie exclaimed, bringing Carly once again to reality. "I swear, you're gonna end up like those girls in Channel 5."
Carly shook her head. "I have to finish this pronto, or else I'm screwed."
James grabbed her book, scanning the pages, while sipping Carly's drink. "What is this anyway? A twisted bio of Leslie?"
"No, genius," shot Carly. "It's my entry for the Interschool Story Writing Contest that Ms. Cruz entered me. It's a fictional high school, set in the 17th century."
"But why do I have to be in there?" asked Leslie.
Carly slapped the back of James' head, and got her drink back. "Don't worry; I can still change the name later on. I'm just writing it as a third person view of our school, so I'm sticking the name so I'll know who's who."
"You should be honoured Leslie. It's not every day you get picked as an inspiration in a distinguished novel by...uhm, who are you again?" James teased, referring to Carly, as he stole a handful of fries from her plate.
"Yeah, keep laughing, dinggus, you're in here too," Carly said, continuously slapping his brother's hand away.
"Aaw, my sister's writing about me... tear..." James said, holding a hand at his heart. "That's what happen's when you're as awesome as me,"
"Yeah, you're about as awesome as a trainwreck, James" Mary remarked.
"She speaks! It's a miracle!" James exclaimed.
RRRRRiiiiiiiiiiiinggggggggg!!!!
"Hey, Leslie!" James said, catching up to the girls. "Walk you to class?"
"Uhm, okay?" Leslie blushed, winking at Carly.
