"Nothing really changed though if you ask me. The only difference is he knows now. It can't be that horrible. At least we don't have to hide it anymore." Paradox said to me as we were walking around in the park. He did have a point, but it was still awkward a little. "I mean I didn't want it to be a secret. but I also don't want any bad blood between all of us." "Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you know him better than I do, but he doesn't strike me as the type. If he was gonna trip, he would've done it right then and there. I'm also not the gloating type to throw it in his face or even try to down him, I got respect for that man. I don't think you have anything to worry about for real." he said sounding reassuring. "I guess you're right, he did have the opportunity and didn't take it." I said in agreeance. "Right, plus he was out with another woman anyway, so at least you see that works both ways. I mean I've seen Onyx with other guys and have never felt any type of way." "Really?" I asked as I slowed down. "Yeah. We've seen each other in an amusement park before and we just waved and kept it moving. I mean that's what she do and this is what I do. I don't feel threatened or angry." he said real confidently. "But...you seem like you were bothered though." he said and I looked at him. "I can't say that I was bothered, just surprised I guess." I said passively. "Why though? I mean no homo, he's a nice looking nigga. He made a name for himself, you had to know it was a possibility that he'd meet someone too." he said as we came to a bench and I took a seat on it and he sat up on the table. "This is probably gonna sound weird, but I knew he'd meet someone, but not someone that's like the complete opposite of me. Like...I figured she'd be I don't know somewhat like me." "You gotta stop putting limitations on things. You don't actually know anything about her, you just saw her physical. Y'all could be a lot alike. But even if you're polar opposites, why care?" "I mean we can't both be his type, right?" He laughed for a moment. "Sure you can. I mean I practically fell for Onyx on sight. With you...it was something in your eyes that drew me in. Like you were yearning for something and I just wanted to give that to you. You're brown skinned, slim, very intellectual and articulate, beautiful as ever and are super headstrong. Onyx is white, heavyset, street smart, witty, gorgeous, and mysterious. I have my reasons for being drawn to you both. I'm not saying it's like that for him but could be." He really had my wheels turning when he said that. Maybe it was something to it...I don't know. "Or maybe you weren't quite ready for all of this." he said to me. "I don't think that's it. Because I really don't remember having this much fun or enjoyment out of life, other than with my son, before you. Like this part of my life wasn't here." I told him. He came down onto the bench and sat next to me and looked in my eyes. "Could it be just a phase?" he asked me and I thought about it. "I don't think this is just a phase." I admitted to him. He leaned over and kissed me gently. "How can you be so sure?" he asked me and I just can't even find the words to admit to anything I was just thinking. "Be real, you got feelings for me?" he asked me. "I do, but I don't know what that means for real." I told him. "I'll be real, I love you Toya. Not saying I'm in love, but I do love you. I love spending time with you, I love experiencing the world with you. It's refreshing to converse with someone on the same level as me and I feel connected to you. I can admit that. Also, I don't think I ever felt as Intune with anyone sexually as I am with you. Our situations probably prevent a lot but...I'm just trying to figure out if you're fuckin with me or you sliding." he said to me calmly. "I'm not sliding on you." I told him. He put his arm around me and pulled me in to him, I placed my head on his shoulder and just watched the birds flying around us. I just decided to live in the moment and take in my surroundings. A part of me was questioning why I was even tripping over Tony at this point because this was so calming. There was no pressure with Dox. "Toya, I have one big question for you." he said and I sat up and looked at him. "So what made you post my bond?" he asked me. "Because me getting to know you, let me know you would never do anything without good reason. You don't deserve to sit in a cell because you're protective. That's bullshit. Plus, I knew without a shadow of a doubt I can get you out of this mess." I told him. "What makes you so sure about that?" he asked me looking confused. "My daddy will make the whole situation go away. Maybe you've heard of Giovanni Smith?" I asked him and he looked surprised. "That's my dad." "Wow...I never would've thought that at all. He'll actually take my case?" he questioned. "He's already started everything." I assured him and he stared in my eyes for a minute, I couldn't read what he was thinking. "Was that okay?" I asked him. "Yeah, hell yeah! I just wasn't expecting that at all. It's one thing to be his daughter but another for him to just handle it off the strength of you. I appreciate you my baby." he said to me. "I know and that is exactly why I didn't mind putting it out there for you. I got you, he got you. We're good." I told him as I grabbed ahold of his hand and put my head back on his shoulder. He placed a kiss on my forehead. Lordt!
