1 WEEK AGO

In a bar

"Seriously bro… when are you going to propose to her? I mean, you had the ring

custom-made 1 month ago!" Tanong ni Lance kae Vern na kanina pa nag lalasing.

"I neeed to find the puuurfect timing, bro." Sagot ni Vern who was struggling to put the

words together.

Usually he can handle his drink quite well but after a bottle worth of vodka shots and

other alcoholic beverages drunk along the way of the long night, he was getting pretty

drunk. Lance who was trying his best to be supportive so was staying sober.

"Look Vern,ang kailangan mo lang gawin ae mag propose! I mean other than timing,

what's important is how you feel for her. As long as you really mean it when you tell her

that you want to marry her, all should go fine." Reassured Lance patting Vern’s back.

Tinignan lang siya nang masama ni Vern.

"Madali mo lang sinasabi yan… You're already damn married to Kristina!"

"Well, I went through this phase too so I'm passing on my wisdom to you." Lance said.

"Great wisdom… bakit napasagot mob uh agad-agad si Kristina?" tanong ni Vern

"Whatever man… But for christ's sake, mag madali ka na! Khaila  already has the venue

chosen out and what I heard from Danica, Mhay's made the "Save the dates" invitation

and ordered the cake… So please?" begged Lance  as he tried to convince Vern.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaatever Lance… mm…" Vern groaned and fell asleep.

Flashback

"Umuwi na tayo or else we'd miss our Friday Movie" said Vern with a casual tone as he

got up from the grass he was tackled onto.

"Huh? Today is Saturday already so I missed Friday Movie for the first time!" sigaw ni

Claire with matching angry galit tone.

"Iniulit. Although it's late, let's stay up and eat the take-away which I ordered and put in

the fridge and watch that soppy movie you wanted to watch while it's Wednesday." HA? 

ANO? Walang naintindihan si Claire sa sinabi ni Vern.

She stuttered, "B-b-but, todayis Saturday! Last time I looked at the time, it was past

twelve…"

Vern who grinned, finally said, "Well, the time goes back today an hour because it's

actually an hour forward. So, right now, it's eleven twenty-four. Meaning we still have

thirty-six minutes of Friday left."

"Oh… Shit!" She leapt up from the ground and started running towards home. She

turned around to Vern and shouted "Kailangan nating tumakbo pabalik! Come on slow! I

don't want to miss Friday Movie when I have such a PERFECT record!"

Tumawa lang si Vern sabay takbo papunta sa kanilang condominium.

34 minutes and 18 seconds later…

Nanonood parin sila ng movie.

Walang nag sasalita sa kanilang dalawa.

Nakahiga lang si Claire sa dibdib ni Vern.

Suddenly, Vern kiss Claire on the lips.

"Happy 3rd anniversary, Clairane Parine"

Claire looked at him, smiled and went back to looking at her next romantic comedies and

thought to herself,

Letting him watch romantic comedies was a good idea…
