"Wait...you're Iris' man...I have so many questions because you seem so calm." Zion said and the whole room started laughing, Iris included. "Iris is not that bad. People just don't know how to deal with someone as headstrong as she is. I know how to tone all of that down." I said confidently. "Because I allow him to." she said quickly. "You love acting up in front of people." I said back to her. "I didn't do anything papi." she said all innocently. "Mama you forget they're right here, they heard you in person." I said as I kissed her cheek and they all had a good laugh. "Damn it." she said with a laugh. It was always nice to be able to just chill and kick back with the homies. I still can't believe Mar is really this family man. Like he has these women and these kids, not to mention the ones on the way. But he's balancing the fuck out of all of this. Then I saw Tony walk in with another girl. I was about to speak when I saw Malachi run right up to him and Tony caught him. He looked so happy to see him. "Uncle Tony!" Malachi said all ecstatic. "I'm jealous, he's never that happy to see me." Iris said and we all laughed. "That's because I'm god daddy. Ain't that right dude?" he said to him and they both were smiling all big. I'm glad he latched on to Tony and Mar the way he did. "Now you're trying to take my spot...I'm god daddy for real." Jay said real quick as he walked in trying to steal Chi away. "I mean you might've called it first but he loves me more." Tony told Jay. "Chi tell Uncle Tony he's delusional." Jay said while everybody laughed at that. "I love you both." Chi said with a big smile. "That might've just touched my...my..." Iris started. "That thing on your left side that you don't use." Erica said quickly and everybody laughed. "Y'all be trying to play my baby. She got a heart and she uses it." I took up for her. "That's probably because you got that thang dangling between your legs." Nicole said. "Well...there's that." Jay said as he covered Chi's ears and walked out the kitchen with him. "I was just saying." Nicole said in her defense. "Excuse me, Rita you look nice boo!" Erica said to her. "Thanks Love. At least somebody recognizes since my rude ass sister didn't speak up." she said as she looked over at Zion who started laughing. "I mean, you cute or whatever." They laughed as they hugged each other. At least I know now how Tony met ol girl. She seemed cool though and if he's happy I'm good with it. "Hey boo, I'm Iris." Iris said as she eyed Rita. "Oh okay so you're Iris, I heard a lot about you." she said with a smile. "Damn y'all gave her a disclaimer on me?" she asked and everyone burst out laughing. "That's fucked up! I'm cool as fuck though, just hyper." she said sweetly. "So...I'm a psychology major..." Rita started and we all laughed harder at that shit. "Fuck...I tried. Alright, I'm cool if you're cool." she digressed. "Same here. But they forgot to tell me how pretty you are though." Rita said. "Yup she's my new fav!" Iris said as she got up and hugged her. Tony looked over at me and we just shrugged. Iris was definitely special. "Fellas, we hitting the table?" Mar asked as we all got up and headed towards the back to shoot some pool and leave the ladies to themselves. "Tony Tone...I see you bruh." I said to him and he started smiling. "Right though, see I still got it." he said and we laughed. "Bruh I know you knew you had it before you shot your shot." Mar said as we all looked at him. "On the real naw. Like I been with Toya so long...even that brief moment with Autumn was just shit from the past for real. I wasn't sure that I really had it in the end. But the important part is that she just be different and she is that." Tony said and I nodded at that. "Agreed! But how different is she?" Mar asked and we all knew what he was getting at. "Oh we ain't even cross that line yet." Tony said. "Damn bruh you always get the ones that want you to wait, I see." Mar said and we laughed. "I'd rather it be that way though. If it comes easy, I don't want it. But I don't know I think we coming to that point though." he admitted. "I bet, but you ready for that though?" Justin asked and we all looked at him. "Naw hear me out. It's different in school when we just out here hitting bitches. Now we grown and mfs out here creating soul ties and shit. So it's a fair question." he said. "Damn I guess marriage really did change a nigga." I said and we all laughed except Jay. "I'm just saying bruh. Like you and Toy was just practically married and she went off and did her so I get you. But are you doing you because she's doing her or because you really want to?" "Solid question." Mar added onto that. "To be honest, a little bit of both. Like it's no secret that me and Toya are on two different pages and for real for real, it seems like she looks down on me. I never cared for that part and I spent a lot of our relationship trying to prove that and I shouldn't have had to. I was blessed before she walked into the picture so she can't say she did everything for me, but she does. Then it was so easy for someone else to get in her head like that. You was never really mine to begin with then. So I'm holding onto what? I might as well choose who chose me from day one without all the extra shit." he said and real shit I respected his stance. "Respect." Me and Mar said together. "Okay so yeah...you're ready." Jay said and the reality sunk in.
