Chapter 7: The Duel

Zero headed towards Alfonzo with great anger. He drew out his saber and slashed at Alfonzo. With great surprise, Alfonzo dodged every attack, unarmed. "You're getting cocky!" Alfonzo told him, smirking. Zero was getting really angry with him. "Who exactly are you?" Zero asked him.

"My name is Alfonzo, leader of Alpha Corporation." Zero froze. "Leader of Alpha Corporation?" "Yes." Alfonzo answered. "The true reason why I started this company was to get my revenge on the world!" Alfonzo started to get really angry. "All my life, I've been made fun of for how I look, what my name is, and for who I am!"

Suddenly, Alfonzo's look started to change. He looked more like a Maverick than a Reploid. "I used to be a wimpy Reploid, but now, I'm a powerful Maverick!" he hissed. He drew out an electric whip that was over 5 feet long. "Those who stand in my path will be destroyed!" Alfonzo charged towards Zero.

Meanwhile, Violet was starting to get Neon free. "Almost done." Violet said. Alfonzo and Zero were fighting so hard, the laboratory started shaking. "Woah!" Neon gasped. Then, Violet managed to get the last strap free and Neon can escape. Violet, X, and Neon started running out of the lab. Neon stopped and looked back to see Zero fighting Alfonzo with all his power focused on the fight.

"We have to get out of here! It's too dangerous!" Violet shouted, pulling on Neon's arm. "Please be careful, Zero." Neon thought, leaving with Violet and X.

While Zero was still fighting, he realized Neon had be set free and escaped. "Good, she's alright now." Zero thought. Being a little side-tracked, he didn't realize the whip was heading towards him. A split-second befroe the whip hits him, Zero jumps out of the way. "Heh, heh. Almost got you there." Alfonzo snickered.

Regaining all his focus, Zero charged towards Alfonzo and managed to get a scratch on his face. "GAHHHH! How dare you!" Alfonzo was furious. But now, Alfonzo can't see. So, Zero decided to use his special attack that will put Alfonzo down for the count. Putting his saber away, Zero brought out his buster cannon again.

"HAAAAAAAAA! REKKOUHA!!!!!!" Bursts of energy exploded, destroying Alfonzo. All that was lefto of him was his scratched up face. "You're gonna regret this...Wait til' you see what's coming next..." those were Alfonzo's last words befor shutting down.

"What's coming next? Does this mean it isn't over?" Zero thought while leaving.

Violet, X, and Neon all heard the giant explosion coming from the top floor. They were only on Floor 20. "Woah, Zero must have used one of his special attacks." X noted. "I hope he's okay." Neon said. Violet and X looked at Neon. "What?" she asked.

Then, they heard someone coming. It was Zero, who looked perfectly fine. "Zero!" they all shouted. "You're okay!" Neon said, smiling. "Yeah, and now, Alfonzo's done for good." Zero said. "You mean, he's..." X then made a finger movement across his neck. "Yep." Zero answered.

As they went down to Floor 5, there was a pathway that split into two ways. "Hey, this wasn't here before." Violet said. So, they decided to split up. X and Violet went one way, and Zero and Neon went the other.

When Zero and Neon went the other way, they came to a dead end. "A dead end?" Zero said, a little angry. "I have a bad feeling about this." Neon said, concerned. Suddenly, the floor under them disappered. Zero managed to grab the ledge with on hand, and Neon with the other hand. "I-i can't hold on much longer!" Neon shouted.

Zero was desperately trying to hold on to two things, when suddenly, his hand holding onto the ledge slipped. "AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" Zero and Neon screamed, falling into the abyss. Violet and X heard them scream and ran to where Zero and Neon went. It was too late. "Oh no. What do we do?" Violet asked. "Hope they didn't fall to their deaths. There's nothing we can do now." X said.

What seemed like forever, Zero and Neon reached the bottom with a hard fall on to the ground, which made them unconsious.
