As I stared into his gorgeous blue eyes, my heart started thumping faster after each beat. My cheeks were a bright red as he twirled a strand of my hair. Everything was perfect. Nobody but us existed.
My breath caught as he leaned in to give me a kiss. I didn't worry about that it was my first kiss. I guess I got carried away and went to fast. Our noses bumped together really hard.
"Ow." I wanted to kick myself internally for ruining the moment. I covered my face with my hands. "God..." I said. "Hey don't feel bad about it Allison, it happens to everybody." He moved my hands away and his face was so close.
And then it happened. His lips were gentle and soft, like nothing I've ever felt before and it was so weird but awesome at the same time. I didn't know how to react and all to soon, his lips parted away and it was over. I felt kind of frustrated. I didn't get a chance to react but it was the best moment ever.
He awkwardly shifted backward an cleared his throat. "So... Let me walk you to class." He said with some kind of shyness. "Umm... Sure..." What's up with him? I'm getting mixed messages here. He walked me to class and left with a far away good bye.
I sighed, trying to figure it out. Something wasn't right but I ignored it. The day swept by quite fast and and as I waited for John I saw my best friend, Greg. "Hey! What's up?" I asked cheerfully. "Nothing much, what about you? Are things going well with John?"
"Yeah everything's... great." He eyed me suspiciously. "What are you not telling me?" He knows me well. Even though it was a very short pause he knew something bothered me. I looked down at my shoes. "Well... I feel like something is a bit off about us. You know, me and John."
He waited for a moment, collecting the right words to say. "Don't rush things or fall too hard for him because if something happens, you're gonna get really hurt." I looked up and bit my lip. "I know..." I sighed. Just then I saw John walking towards the library. "I'll talk to you later." I said to Greg as I caught up to John. "Hey, where are you going?" I asked a bit confused.
"I have to go to the library for an assignment and I'll be there for a while so you can go ahead and leave without me." He said calmly. "But we always walk back together." I pouted. And then a brilliant idea struck. "I can wait for you." I said with a big smile. "No." He answered roughly. "Go home."
I stopped where I was as he kept walking away. I was baffled. Why was he being like this? Maybe I'm over reacting. I guess he would want some space. I frowned. First kiss plus first boyfriend equals no experience. I walked sadly home alone. Good thing I had a taser....
The following days were the same thing. In the morning it was all cool and in the afternoon, he changed. I stared blankly into space thinking about John in the middle of class. "Miss Reed, can you answer the question?" My science teacher. Mr. Goodman asked.
I literally jump in my seat as I snapped back to reality. "What? What?" I asked as the class burst into laughter. "Earth calling to Allison, do you read me?" A voice called out from the back of the class.
The teacher glared at me and I turned red. "I'm glad you're with us Miss Reed. If you payed more attention in class, you wouldn't be getting the grades that you have."
I slumped into my seat. "Oooooh..." The class said at the same time. I wanted the earth to swallow me. The teacher went on with the class hushing people and talking about chemical reactions. It was the longest hour of my life. Finally the bell rang and I swiftly picked up my stuff and hurried out.
I was glad that at least my next class was with John and my best girlfriend, Terra. I saw John and noticed him depressed. "What's wrong?" I asked as I sat next to him. "Nothing." He turned his head slightly away. "I'm worried about you and you know you can tell me anything." I insisted. "It's none of your concern." he said brusquely turning to glare.
