"What." Jeonghan's gaze sharpened through his glasses on the vampire who stood at his bedroom door, visibly pissed off.
"You're usually so good at keeping your composure, so why are you staring at me like I cut off your fangs?" He tilted his head and lowered the book he was reading, resting it on his lap.
"Who is she." Seungcheol demanded an answer as he moved closer to Jeonghan's chair beside the rectangle-shaped window.
Jeonghan raised his leg and rested his foot on Seungcheol's belt, guiding him downwards until the vampire was on his knees. "Dropping the titles already?"
Seungcheol sneered at the audacity.
He moved his foot under Seungcheol's chin. "Address me properly and I'll tell you. I'm still your prince."
Seungcheol shook his head in disbelief, "such degrading acts from a vampire to a mere human—"
His inner beast rumbled from within.
Speak one more word and your tongue will get ripped out by your own hands. Rule number one of having a mate is to obey their wishes. Big or small. Don't even try to risk anything or I'll cut our tie.
Seungcheol stopped himself and rolled his eyes at the fact that he was not only being controlled by the beast inside him, but also by a despicable human who he had to call his 'mate.'
Something that Seungcheol couldn't ignore was the tingling sensation under his skin, pulsing his mate's name in what felt like morse code.
His attraction was undeniable. So undeniable that he wanted to keep denying it.
Play nice or you'll become feral like Seong-ah. Seungcheol heaved as the beast threatened and reminisced his traumatic past.
Seungcheol swallowed hard, "please, master." Jeonghan's face lighted with delight. Hearing the shame dripping from his servant's sultry lips made his humiliation play far more enjoyable.
The vampire seethed at how much Jeonghan was enjoying this. It was so very pitiful on his part.
"Get up." Jeonghan's voice was now hard and emotionless. Seungcheol rose from the ground, using his arms to box Jeonghan into the chair, "so... who is she?" His breath was heavy and uncontrolled as displeasure seethed through his teeth.
Soon, Seungcheol was pulled forward with a sudden force by his collar.
Jeonghan whispered, "You're jealous—and it's obvious." He lightly bit Seungcheol's ear before turning to face the flushed vampire.
Seungcheol's cheeks warmed as he met Jeonghan's gaze, his body shivering as he held back with restraint. Part of him was proud of Jeonghan for being able to see through him so easily.
It made him want to fuck his bratty brains out.
Seungcheol's lips curled into a sinister smile as he held his position, "you're a smart one aren't you?" He placed a thumb under Jeonghan's chin and tilted his head back, leaving his mouth slightly agape, "and so what if I am? Don't fancy a bloodsucker with an insatiable appetite?"
He lightly traced his thumb over Jeonghan's lips, pressing and pulling, teasing and fantasising about pressing his own against Jeonghan's.
The prince giggled naively, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Julia's just an old friend. I wouldn't call us close but we are acquainted."
Seungcheol hummed in response. "Vampires have spectacular hearing you know?"
"What?" Jeonghan cocked his head to the side innocently—completely clueless.
Seungcheol's hand slithered around Jeonghan's neck and he applied a slight amount of pressure, "you humans love to lie." His words slipped along the tongue which caught Jeonghan by surprise as he hadn't realised up until now, just how possessive Seungcheol had gotten.
It made his stomach curl with excitement. He had breathed for a moment like this, pining for that toxic suffocation of pure lust and desire.
Jeonghan in fact did love to lie. He lied everyday, every hour, all his life. Shadowing his pursuit of innocence, conspired his inner slut that had been caged with no release.
On the outside, people considered him to be obedient, faithful, quiet and respected. He wore the crown on his head with duty, as well as diligence and appeared to sympathise easily with beggars he saw during his travels. His faint smiles that lacked meaning seemed to 'cure' the intoxicated and 'heal' the sick. Some could even mockingly say he was a philanthropist.
But no one cared enough to read between the lines, notice his weak sighs during conversation, to dig into the deeper meanings of his words, or to search below the surface level of his limited range of emotions.
But Seungcheol, he just knew everything without having to make Jeonghan explain or display his feelings. Jeonghan loved that. Their mutual and unintentional understanding.
He didn't have to make Seungcheol want him because the vampire already did.
