i sat on the couch in between matt and hayden. we were on our second movie for the night when i felt my phone vibrate.

hi jack

i hope you had fun today

i did, thank you

well i'm glad, actually i was wondering if i could take you out to breakfast tomorrow?

"ooo someone has a date tomorrow" hayden's voice snapped me into reality

"aww look at her smiling" matt added

"both of you shut up" i said causing us all to laugh

i'd love that, i just have to be to the beach by 11

i'll make sure that happens. i'm gonna pick you up at 9, sound good?

that's perfect

alright i'll see you tomorrow morning. night :)

"i think i have a date tomorrow"

"we should go so you can get some sleep for your date" hayden said

matt agreed and i walked them both to the door. i said goodbye to hayden and she left but matt stayed behind for a minute.

"i really want you to enjoy yourself tomorrow. i know you haven't been on a date since luke."

"i don't wanna talk about him right now" i replied blinking away my tears

"i just want you to have fun with jack tomorrow, okay? no matter how it goes i love you and hayden loves you and if you need anything you can call us."

"i will. thanks matt, you're the best" i replied

"you're welcome. i'll see you at the beach tomorrow so i can hear about your date"

"bye matt" i smiled

i woke up somewhat early so i could get ready for my date with jack. i was kind of nervous because i haven't been on a date in a long time and i didn't want to mess this up.

i showered and moussed my hair since i was going to be going to the beach after anyways. i didn't want a lot of makeup so i just put on eyeliner and mascara. i put on my bathing suite under my sundress that way i could go to the beach right after our date.

i went downstairs and my mom was already awake.

"good morning sweetheart"

"morning mom"

"what are you doing up so early? your practice isn't for a few hours."

"actually i have a breakfast date this morning" i smiled

"with who?"

"his name is jack. i met him at the beach the other night."

"alright, have fun but make sure you're not late for practice. your father would not like that"

"i know" i laughed "thanks mama"

the doorbell rang, my mom walked over and hugged me goodbye and then i went to get the door.

"hi" 

"good morning" he replied handing me flowers "i got these for you"

"they're beautiful jack, thank you"

i invited him in while i went to put the flowers in a vase and water.

"okay, let's go" i smiled

we walked out to jack's car and he opened the car door for me. i thanked him and he ran around to the other side, getting in and pulling out of the driveway. we made small conversation about his car and music on our way to the diner. once we got there, he told me to wait and he came around the front of the door opening my door for me. we walked in and they immediately sat us at a table and we ordered soon after.

"so lily, tell me something about yourself that no one else knows"

"i love to sing" 

"that's awesome, maybe i can hear you sometime."

"maybe" i smiled

after we ate, jack drove me back home. he wanted to walk me down to the beach that we he could watch me surf.

"you know my dad is gonna be there, so you're going to have to meet him"

"parents love me"

"don't be cocky" i laughed

we walked up the ramp and jack's hand brushed against mine before her grabbed it and intertwined our fingers. i couldn't help but look at our hands and smile. we got down to the beach. my dad, matt and hayden were all already there. we walked up to them.

"jack, these are my best friends hayden and matt and this is my dad"

jack smiled at hayden and matt and then shook my dad's hand.

"it's nice to meet you mr. williams"

"same to you jack"

jack (new pov)

i stood with lily's friend matt as we watched her and hayden surf.

"i know lil would be mad if she even know i said anything to you but if you hurt her in any i will kill you."

"i'm not going to do that to her. i promise you that"

"good. she's dealt with so much shit and she's been through hell and back. the last thing she needs is to get hurt."

"what happened?" i asked

"it's not my place to tell you but if she gains your trust she'll tell you. she doesn't open up to a lot of people so if she opens up to you, then you mean something to her."

i nodded in response to him and we both focused our attention back on the girls in the water.

"jack, can i talk to you?" mr. williams called me

i nodded and walked over to where he was standing.

"what are your intentions with my daughter?"

"i want to take her on a few more dates and hang out with her some more and see how it goes from there"

"i don't need my daughter in tears. i just don't want her getting hurt."

"i wouldn't ever want to intentionally hurt her. your daughter is such a beautiful person inside and out."

"you seem to be a good kid, i trust you with my little girl don't make me regret it"

"you won't, sir. i promise."

i know i don't update this story so much but when i do the chapters are decently long. i have a lot of this story planned out and i'm excited :)
