Half past six Jade is already ready for her first day of school. Uniform is not required and the feeling of miss matched students gives Jade a headache. Mrs.Caldin comes down stairs for the first time this morning, it's no surprise her daughter is up and ready to face the challenges of the day, she always felt such pride in her daughter and how she's almost more of an adult then herself.
The coffee is done, breakfast is made and the sun is slowly starting to rise and join the others. The Caldin's house is a grey two story house among others on ashbridge road. Houses have very little diffrences between them, but the Caldin's is the only house that is a seperate color from the original pearl white. The Caldin's presumed the previous owner was sick of the same thing, they didn't mind. Simple flowers decorated every window sill, the green grass in the front and the trees on the left side of the house made up for the barley existent backyard.
Mrs. Caldin had left Jade alone while she gets ready herself, she knew when she came back down stairs her daughter would be in the same place reading articles about some event on the other side of the world. The school was walking distance but for Jade's first day her mother had to accompany her to fill out any undone paperwork. The sky was very overcast and the streets were foggy a day for sleeping in Mr.Caldin had said when he went to grab himself a cup of tea. It was strange to Jade that her father, an American, would drink tea like he was raised up on it and her mother, an English women, drank coffee.
At exactly half past seven Jade jumped in the car and waited for her mother to follow her. Mrs.Caldin was never a very punctual women neither was her husband, with Jade around they were slightly less late to events. First day of school was an impressionable day Jade thought as she was overlooking her outfit in the car she had paired a light pink top with a black skirt and her best flats. Simple gold necklace was a must as was her Chanel backpack. A very classy woman, Jade thought to herself. She didn't want to be confused for a delinquent on her first day with her teachers.
Mrs.Caldin on the other hand wore a grey shirt with black jeans and despite Jade's wishes she wore her black boots. The car ride was filled with Do and Dont's and they weren't for Jade. The school came into view and it seemed to be made completely made of black marble. Zodiac High School sign hung proudly in the front and Jade couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous it was to be attending a school not named after a governor or another politician. The walk into the school was something jade couldn't quite understand herself, as she walked in behind her mother the inside was completely made of glass. Jade turned to face the doors, the ones made from black marble, were now see through. Jade made a mental note to check the school's history and architecture as soon as she gets the time.
Mrs. Caldin lead the way to the front office and simply asked to enroll her daughter and gave then her birthday. Not a single signature nor piece of paper was done or touched, Jade raised an eyebrow at her mother as they waited for her schedule to be printed. The woman behind the desk with red lipstick and winged eyeliner was a dead ringer for Taylor Swift despite the fact she was standing on a box to appear taller. The schedule was handed to her mother and Taylor number two gave jade a smile and they were off.
Mrs.Caldin handed her daughter the schedule knowing there would be no problem with it and hugged her and wished her a good day at school. Jade looked over the schedule and for the first time ever she had every class she wanted.
