The Lost Lovegood

Prologue - Lovegoods & A Veil

"Mom? Are you done with your experiment? Skylar is getting bored!"

"Almost, dear, be patient!"

Luna sighed. It was another day at the Ministry of Magic. Her mom loved working at the Department of Mysteries. She decided on going to fetch Skylar while her mom was busy.

Skylar was two minutes younger than Luna. They were VERY close. They were also very talented. Skylar was an animagus. She could transform into a hare at will, and Luna was a skilled animal tamer. She could calm a wild dragon with a few little words.

"Arcess Demono!" Pandora had yelled.

Luna turned around and saw a jet of red light hit her mom. Pandora toppled, and something started to form next to her. It grew bigger, and bigger, until it had two jagged horns and a body made from-

"FIRE!!!" Skylar burst into the room and shrieked.

Luna turned and grabbed her twin's hand, and together they ran out of the room. The demon Pandora had summoned thundered after them, spitting fire from a gaping hole where its mouth should have been.

The twins burst through a door into a circular room filled with doors. The doors spun around the room, and Luna chose one and Skylar chose another. They were separated, with the demon chasing Skylar.

Skylar sprinted down a hallway into a room with a stone-looking arch and a flowing veil inside the arch. It was on a dais, and Skylar tripped over the little step, just as Luna came into the room, just in time to see Skylar falling into the veil, fading. And then she was gone.

"SKYLAR! SKYLAR!" Luna shrieked.

Luna stared. She had lost two family members in one day. She didn't even care that the demon was staring at her with a hungry look, or at least as hungry as a faceless creature could look. Luna's insides filled with a burning grief, and she charged towards the demon, not caring that she had nothing to defend herself with. The tears leaking from Luna's eyes fell on the demon, and left holes where they had hit. Surprised, Luna backed away, and watched the demon clawing at the wounds, and then it fell, disappearing like her just like her sister had.
