Her New Chapter

Chapter 1

I was unpacking boxes of my clothes into the new room at my grandma's house. When I heard something shatter. "Gran? What was that?"

... When I got no answer I started to run for the staircase

"GRAN?" I shouted.

"I'm fine Emma." Gran said softly.

When I reached the kitchen I saw her sweeping up what looks like a broken cookie jar.

"Gran , what happened?" I pushed her gently out of the way and started to sweep up the mess for her.

"Oh, just dropped the cookie jar, no need to worry." She said in a soothing voice

But, after what happened to my mom every sound in the house scared me.

*Flashback*

"Mom I'm going out with Michael and Samantha for a bit!" I shouted from the door

"Alright be home before 7!" She shouted back

When I walked outside I saw my best friend Michael and his Sister Samantha waiting in the car.

"EM" Sam shouted when I hopped in the car

"Hey Sammy, so what's the plans for today?" I asked

"I thought we could go to the fair." Mikey stated

"YES!" Sammy and I shouted.

As we were about to leave my neighborhood I realized I had forgot my sunglasses at home and annoyed Mikey to drive back so I could grab them. After a lot of whining he finally drove back. As I walked into the house I heard glass shattering and a loud scream from the kitchen. Mom

"MOM!" I yelled

As I ran into the kitchen I saw him though the shattered windows, my dad.

As I looked at the scene in front of him all words were gone out of my mouth.

"Mom" I croaked

She was lying in a puddle of her own blood. When i looked up to see if my father was still there while I reached in to my pocket to call for help but that's when Mikey ran through the door yelling,

"Hurry up ... Em?... What happened?"

"We need to go to the hospital NOW!"

As we approached the hospital with my mom in Michael's arms and Sammy trying to keep me from falling apart. 3 men rushed to us with a gurney. Michael slowly put her down on the gurney and the men rushed her strait to the emergency room.

I was questioned on what happened by a nurse and told her I didn't really know, and that I came home to a loud scream and found her in a pool of her own blood.

When I spotted the doctor that helped us. Michael, Sam and I all rushed to him for answers...

But all he did was shake his head.

*End of flash back*

"Oh Emma" Gran cooed and came up to me wiping the tears that I never knew were there.
