I turned on my lamp and rubbed my eyes at 6:15am. "Monday," I groaned.
I groggily got out of bed and walked over to my drawers. By this time of the school year, right about the middle of February, Monday's are like acid. I pulled out a sweater and a pair of jeans, and brushed my teeth.
"Ruby!" My mother called. "Are you almost ready?"
I checked my phone: 7:15. My bus comes at 7:30, so I sprinted down the stairs. My mom was standing in the kitchen making coffee when she greeted me with a smile. "How'd you sleep?"
"Alright," I said, grabbing my book-bag and sitting at the kitchen table.
I ate a bowl of cereal and started out the door when my mom said, "Wait, don't forget your lunch!"
She clapped her hands and the fridge door opened. My lunchbox floated over to me, but hovered above my head as my bookbag unzipped itself. The lunchbox dropped into my bag and my bag zipped shut.
"Mom," I whined. "That was so unnecessary."
"I'm just trying to teach you, Ruby."
"I know, but I can teach myself." I walked out the door and slammed it behind me.
I'm just your average teenager, trying to fit in. Oh yeah, and I come from a line of humans with magical powers.

A/N:New story up! I know I just said I didn't have time but I'll just make this a short story (maybe). Now that I'm not writing Sam and Spencer I'll be able to focus on this one. Just don't expect updates all the time.
With love, JLB175
