Hello there. I don't know who I'm talking to, I'm just writing in a diary I found in a store, guess not many people these days have much use for them, but if a survivor in the future reads this, then I guess I'm talking to them, to you, if someone are reading these words right now. I guess I should start with some basics, my name is Nepeta Leijon and I'm about twenty years old. Though you will probably know this by the time you read this, right now there is an apocalypse spreading world wide. Zombies are everywhere, and they're really scary.... But I'm sure I'll be ok, I've got my big sister Meulin with me!
Nepeta paused, knowing that was a lie. Her sister had left the other day to scout out the surrounding area and hadn't come back. Just the thought that she was....... not with the living made tears spring into Nepeta's eyes, though she had to accept the very possible truth.
Ok, that isn't the truth. I'm so scared right now. Meulin hasn't been back in quite a few days, and I hear zombies outside the hospital we took shelter in. They keep on banging on the door. I hope another survivor will come here in search of medical supplies and find me, but I think, then what? They may try and kill me, I know that, all I can do is hope they won't. Please someone help me.....
She set the diary down, placing the pencil she had been writing with on top of it before standing. She gripped the holster around her waist, ready to open fire if need be. Her green trench coat dragged behind her as she walked, looking at her surroundings. The hospital was zombie free, she and Meulin had made sure of it before they made it their shelter, but Nepeta was cautious still.
Rustling reached her ears and she turned toward the sound. Nothing should have been able to have gotten into the hospital, another thing that had been made sure of, but obviously they hadn't been careful enough. She drew her pistol quickly, keeping a finger on the trigger as she walked slowly in the direction of the noise.
Nepeta rounded a corner, her eyes widening as they fell on a lone figure, their back turned to her. Though it, he, Nepeta noticed, turned around to face her and told her in a gruff voice that she really should be more quiet, that he had heard her coming from down the hall.
Her eyes narrowed as she focused on the other, not letting her gun fall from it's position. Albino, he wore a frown and a large sweater, along with gray skinny jeans. She questioned him, the basics, what is your name (Karkat Vantas), Age (23), what are you doing here (Same reason as you, I'm guessing?), are you alone (Yes), are you going to shoot me (I don't think I can say yes in our current positions, but I should ask you the same question, girl).
A growl rumbled from the back of Nepeta throat, which shocked her, she wasn't that way normally, she was usually quite friendly and trusting, but, then again, who could trust anyone these days? Nepeta let her gun hand fall to her side, not taking her eyes off Karkat for even a moment.
Finally, she let out a sigh, telling him that she needed an ally, and how she hoped he would agree to be that ally.
He said yes.

Hello again, I'm back. Did you miss me? I should fill you in on what has happened since I last wrote in here. Well, first of all, Meulin isn't back, and I'm beginning to think that she won't come back ever. Though there is good news, I'm not alone anymore! Someone got into the hospital, and I found him, thank goodness he wasn't a zombie, but we became allies. His name is Karkat Vantas and he's just about three years older than me. He's pretty grumpy most of the time, but he can be really sweet, and funny too. We relocated from the hospital, and came to a small hotel on the other side of town. It wasn't really a smart move, because we were noticed by a horde, but we got away, even if it was just barely. But now we have a smaller space to patrol, so it's more easier to manage.
