The flight wasn't that long maybe 3 hours.
Wow 3 hours of thinking. Fun! I don't know what I'm going to do or anything. To be completely honest it's kind of scary. I know, 17 year old scared of a new place, but it's just weird I know absolutely nobody and everybody already has there cliques.
I'll try my best, but honestly I just want to watch Netflix all day. Every girls dream.
"Welcome to Michigan, we will be preparing for landing."
As soon as I step out of the plane I have one of two options, find my dad or get my luggage. Well obviously the most important.
Luggage.
After I grab my luggage, I make my way to pick up to find my dad.
I spot him instantly because he's holding a sign that says 'Melanie My Daughter' in big bold letters. Thanks dad.
As I make my way over to him, he probably has the biggest smile I've ever seen.
I will admit he is a handsome man for his age. Bright green eyes, smile wrinkles, the whole aging well look.
My mom says I get my carefree attitude from him. I will admit just by looking at him I probably do. He's wearing an old Nirvana shirt and some jeans with paint stains on them. My type of look for a chill day.
"Oh Melanie you're so grown up. I've missed you kiddo."
He hugs me so tight I think my head might pop off. But I wouldn't tell him that because it feels welcoming and warm. Like home.
" Hey dad."
For some reason it's not as awkward as I though it was going to be. It doesn't seem like it's been 13 years more like 13 hours. Weird.
" So Mellie, first order of business is food, I don't know about you, but I am famished."
" Sure I'm hungry."
"Awesome."
And with that he grabs one of my bags and leads me out into Michigan.
