After we grabbed some burgers. We headed home. I texted my mom telling her I landed safely and stuff, but she's probably already on her flight.
" Okay Mellie, your mom emailed me on some stuff like school, doctor crap, you know stuff that's not really important so I want you to tell me honestly want you want. Where you'd like to go for school and everything. Your mom says Redcliffe Private School, but I have a few coworkers who have kids there and let me just tell you they're all stuck up. But if you want to go that's up to you."
Wow someone's actually letting me make a decision for myself. I like that.
" Umm can I just go to a public school? I'm kind of tired of private schools they're too much for me."
" Of course. There's one maybe 5 blocks from our house it's called Ridge Water High. It's pretty decent."
I hope.
After a couple minutes we pull up in front of a nice two maybe three story house. Very modern with a touch of classic.
" Okay Melanie, it's not just going to be you and me. I have a wife, her name is Charlotte and we've been married for maybe 3 years. Now I don't want you to think anything bad about her just yet and honestly she's been waiting to meet you see since I mentioned you. If you don't like her I won't force her onto you, but seeing as you're going to be here a year I would maybe suggest a little friendship thing. Okay?"
Again someone is letting me make my own choice for myself. I love it.
"Okay."
As we grab the burgers and bags we head inside. The house is absolutely breathtaking. It smells wonderful like cinnamon and it's very bright with dark colors.
" Charlotte! We're home!"
With that a woman comes down the stairs. She looks maybe mid thirties and she was very pretty.
She had sun-kissed skin and vibrant red hair tied into a bun. It wasn't Little Mermaid red, but red enough to make it noticeable. She was wearing some jeans with a flannel. Simple, I like it.
" Char this is my daughter Melanie, Mel this is my wife Charlotte."
She rushed down the stairs and hugged me. Like she literally attacked me with a hug. She smelled good. Is that creepy? Oh well.
Her scent could be described as lavender. So relaxing.
"Oh Melanie you're so beautiful, your father has told me so much about you. Finally I get to meet you."
Wow she's very open. Not like it's a bad thing though. A complete stranger looking forward to meeting you.
" Okay Charlotte let the girl go so she can get settled."
She let go and just gushed over me.
" It's nice to meet you too Charlotte. I wish I could say I've heard a lot about you."
Was that mean. It sounded mean.
" Oh Pumpkin, it's okay."
She is so nice.
"Okay Mellie follow me, I'll show you the house before Charlotte drags you away from me."
Charlotte pouted like a little baby as we made our way upstairs.
We made it to the second level of the house and there were so many doors.
"Okay Mel, the three rooms on the left are two guest bedrooms and a bathroom and the room on the right is my bedroom. "
Huh?
" Wait where will I be sleeping?"
"Follow me."
He started making his way back down the stairs. Wait what if he makes me stay under the staircase like Harry Potter. I can't live like that.
"Okay Mel, close your eyes."
I soon realized we were walking down a flight of stairs and then I heard a light switch flick.
"Okay open them!"
