“Kath, sino yan?” Daniel, my best friend asked while looking at my laptop. I was using Facebook when Julia Montes’ (my classmate) photo was on my feed.
“Ah... Si Julia. My classmate” I said with a weak smile. I think Daniel likes Julia. This is the first time he asked me one of my classmate’s name. And I’m pretty jealous about Daniel liking Julia. Ever since the start, I seriously had deep feelings for him but I never admitted it. “Bakit Dj, crush mo? Yiiieee. Bagay naman kayo eh.” I sighed and faked a smile and laugh. I always call Daniel “DJ” short for Daniel John, his real name.
“Hindi naman. I was just asking, ang ganda nya kasi eh.” He smiled and click Julia’s profile and like her profile picture. I’m so jealous right now. Julia’s the first girl in school that Daniel called pretty. And suddenly, I felt that my heart just died. “Para siyang American here” Daniel added and pointed to Julia’s picture wearing a long white elegant gown.
“She has a German blood” I corrected him without looking straight to his eyes.
“Kaya naman pala.” He laughed and continued looking at her pictures and albums. It was silent for a while until he suddenly spoke. “Grabe, honor student pala siya?” He sounded amazed and pointed at her status saying that she was part of th honor's list I just nodded and grabbed my phone to look busy.
“Alam mo Daniel, she’s such an ideal girl. She’s so pretty, tignan mo” I pointed at her picture again. “And matalino pa” I added. Daniel smiled. And I smiled too. His happiness is my happiness.
“Yup, maganda nga siya.” He suddenly said at looked at me with his eyes, putting the laptop aside. Oh those black and round eyes, it really drives me crazy. “Pero...” He paused at hugged me. Wait... WHAT?
“Pero?” I raised my right eyebrow.
“Mas swerte ka pa rin... Maganda ka rin naman. Simple” He said. My cheeks turned red for a second. This is the first time he called me pretty. “Mabait pa. Tanunging mo pa yung iba” He smiled at me. I still couldn’t believe it. “At matalino ka rin naman eh. Like you can hide from na you passed the UP exam. I know you too well. Congrats nga pala” Oh my gosh, I just stayed frozen. “Kung tutuusin, mas maswerte ka kay Julia, na sa yo na ang lahat eh.” He said and kissed my cheeks.
“Pati yung puso ko” He whispered.
