                     One week later

So far I've settled in fine.

Charlotte and I went shopping a couple days ago and I officially have a whole Michigan wardrobe. Kind of.
We ended buying me at least 20 pairs of jeans, 5 sweaters, a couple of shirts, some boots (both fall and winter), and some winter gear. Like a coat, gloves, scarves, etc. She made sure I had everything to survive winter.

During our trip I got to know more about Charlotte. Turns out she runs a bakery out of the house and she's from Chicago. She studied Culinary Arts at the Art Institute of Chicago. She told me how beautiful Chicago was and how she could live there forever, but she had to move here because her mother got sick. Then when she was maybe 29 she met my dad at a friend's wedding, that she was catering, and they got married when she was 31.

I really wish I could've been there for the wedding. They had it in spring and the colors were lavender and gold. I saw pictures and it looked pretty fun.

Charlotte is going to open a real bakery like with a shop and everything before Thanksgiving and offered me a job there. I was kinda excited because I get paid to smell delicious things and taste them.

I've been texting and calling my mom, but she rarely answers. I stay up till about 2:30 am our time just to talk to her in the afternoon her time.

We talked for a little while and all she wants to talk about is how romantic Tom is and a bunch of other bull. I start school in less than a week and she's worried about Tom.

But, I will admit, dad is doing a great job with me. For someone that hasn't seen his daughter in years he does a spectacular job. We mostly just sit on the couch and watch tv, but I mean it's so fun.

When we were talking on our way home, he offered to buy me a car!

I was overly excited because even though I can drive, my mom doesn't let me because....she never really gave me an excuse why not. All she said was no. But not with Dad. He said he knew a couple of guys who fix up 'vintage' cars and said he could get me one.

He took me to his job a couple of days ago and showed me what he does. It's actually pretty interesting. While we were there he introduced me to some of his coworkers and it turns out Natalie (coworker) has a daughter that will be in my grade at Ridge Water.

So here I was driving Charlotte's Ford to some cafe to meet Natalie's daughter. I think her name was Brooklyn?

When I came up to the cafe I parked the car and gave myself a little pep talk.

" Don't be a bitch Mel!"
