Skylar's POV

I had that feeling of panic when i woke up. The kind where you're startled when you wake up somewhere thats not your bed like a hotel, grandparents house, etc. The only difference is that this time that feeling didn't go away after five seconds. I still had no idea where i was.
I sat up so i could get a better look around instead of just staring at the unfamiliar cieling. Right in front of me i saw Lauren talking to someone one my phone. I couldn't quite tell but i think it was a mans voice i heard on the other line. I wanted to ask her what she was doing with my phone and who she was talking to but those questions seemed less important right now. The first question on my mind was still where am i?
She was still talking on the phone and even though it was my phone and i deserved some answers it seemed rude to try and interrupt her conversation. So i waited.

Finally time for me to get some answers. Her voice sounded the same which i thought was a little unusual because nothing about this situation seemed ordinary.
The thought had crossed my mind earlier that this might be her house. I got the idea when i sniffed the couch when i woke up. It wasn't intentionally i just happened to get a whiff while breathing on my side. Anyway the couch smelled like her, in fact the whole house did. There was still a distinction between her and the house though. It wasn't a bad smell either in fact i enjoyed it. I cant really describe the smell except it smelled like her and that it smelled really good. My house smelled like nothing I'm sure it had its own scent but i was to accustomed to it to ever recognize it.
Lauren and i talked a bit and she filled me in on everything i was confused about. I definitely was at her house, apparently some cop was looking for me, and the fact that my parents didn't even call to check why i wasn't home five hours after school. They must sure care about me...
I saw an older woman walk in through the kitchen. She looked beautiful. Wait, let me re-phrase that so this doesn't sound weird. I could just kinda tell that it was her mom i was looking at. She was beautiful in many ways. There was a glow about her, the one that really nice people have, the kind you'd see around someone working at a homeless shelter or holding a newborn baby. She had a smile that seemed to be a remedy by itself and she still looked youthful and unbattered from the wear and tear most parents have after raising numerous children.
But that was just the beginning. She was an amazing cook too! I gobbled down the bowl of soup she gave me, and had an internal struggle with my stomach and my brain about whether or not i should ask for seconds.
I also got to hear some... Well interesting things about Lauren too. Her mom started talking about how she leaves her... Clothes... On the floor. To be honest i found her embarrassed expression way more interesting. Her face was so red i thought at any moment it might just burst. I teased her a little bit before leaving to follow her mom to the casita. I guess ill have to apologize later.

"Alright here we are. Remind me, what was your name again?"
"Oh sorry, its Skylar, i should've introduced myself sooner."
"Its fine, you've had a rough day, do you have a preference on what you wear to bed?
"No ill wear what ever you think looks best thank you.
"Alright ill be back in a minute."
After she left i took the time to look around the room. It was about the size of a bedroom. It had a beautifully decorated queen size bed in the middle of the room surrounded by ornaments and furniture. It obviously looked like it had a "woman's touch" to the appearance. It didn't smell have the same smell as the house either it mostly smelled like air fresheners. She wasn't joking when she said a minute. She returned really quickly with a long-sleeve flannel shirt and some cotton pajama pants.
"Do you need anything else?"
"No i don't think so"
"Ok heres my number if you need anything."
She picked up a notepad and pen from the nightstand and sprawled her 10 digit number on the top and placed both back on the stand next to the landline phone.
She opened the door and left through the front door with a soft spoken "goodnight."
I turned my attention away from the door and took the clothes from the foot of the bed and changed. I looked in the long mirror that extended to the floor so i could completely examine the outfit. She was right it was kinda loose around the waist but the length fit very well. I liked the fact that the sleeves were extra long and i instantly felt a lot warmer. They had the same Cimorelli smell as everything else but nothing else smelled as sweet as Lauren did.
I tried my best to keep the bed looking as pristine as possible. I didn't want to appear messy after all the hospitality she had shown me.
I fell asleep instantly.
