Isabelle watched as the two kids played ball. Isabelle looked down at her red liquid glass," Wasn't this pink earlier?" Isabelle looked back at the kids once more before looking back at her drink," Who cares." She thought as she took another swig of her glass. " You know you shouldn't be drinking," Mark said. Isabelle kept her back turned from Mark," What's the point of having prized roses if you know they will eventually wilt?" Mark walked from the doorway and sat on the blue recliner,"If you want, we could go camping one last time. Sounds good huh?" Mark waited for Isabelle's response," What has happened to her? The women who was at the alley beaten and desperate to save those who love... she never even wanted them much less keep them and now..." Mark stood up and walked over to Isabelle," May I ask, every since we met, you never wanted to be 'tied down' if I remember correctly. Why are you sad for them to go? I gave you what you wanted in return for having my kids so shouldn't you be relieved that your job is almost over? Of being a mot-" "Shut up this instant!" Isabelle said. She never wanted them that was what her brain kept telling her, but ever since their birth, she has done nothing but give and gain love from the two and now she was supposed to give them away and move on? Isabelle placed her drink down over the mantle of the fireplace and walked towards the doorway," You know what? I should call the kids in for lunch." And with that, Isabelle walked away. Mark watched as Isabelle left the room before turning towards the window, where the children were still playing. Mark knew about this day coming and he has always tried to be distant with the kids but seeing them at that moment, hoping that if he could do anything to protect them, he would sell his soul to save his blood. Mark gave a bitter laugh at the thought," To save you must kill." He thought as he continued to watch the kids.
Lily danced with her prince charming to the elegant orchestral in the ballroom. Lily watched as her mother and father, now old, were dancing happily together. John, now grown, was dancing with who Lily assumed was his wife. Everything was perfect... self for everything felt off. Lily broke away from her partner and searched throughout the ballroom. There standing in the corner was a tall and bookish young man," Why are you by yourself?" Lily asked. The man looked up startled at being noticed," I have lost everything...I wonder if I have lost my own life as well." Lily took him by the hands," Don't worry. I'll help you find your old self. It's weird...should I know you from somewhere?" The man pushed his glasses up," I'm Hans Yield. You look sort of familiar as well. Do you know of a-" The ballroom shook making everyone tumble and fall. Lily awoke, realizing it was a dream. "Come on you have to get up." Isabelle said as she picked Lily up," Mom? What's going on?"Lily said as Isabelle placed her down. Isabelle had Lily's suitcase," I thought that we should go on a vacation, far away from here. Come on, John is waiting downstairs at the door." Lily followed her mom through the hallway and down the stairs," Is daddy coming to?" Isabelle bit her lip," Dad doesn't want to go but don't worry. We'll send him postcards and all the fun stuff we're doing too!" Once they headed down the stairs, Lily saw John who was rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. John didn't know why they were leaving so soon and without their dad. Isabelle kissed John on the forehead," Hang in there champ." John gave a sleepy smile," okay." As the three of them walked out of the house, Isabelle opened the car door" Mom. Where are we going?" Lily said as she helped her mom put the bags inside the trunk," We are...going to visit family." " but grandma lives in Mexico." Isabelle nodded," And I bet grandma would love to see us. Now get in the car." John hopped in the car. Lily looked at her mom once more," Why is mom so anxious to leave so soon?" Lily walked over to the passenger side. " You're not leaving!" Mark said as he grabbed Lily. Lily screamed. Isabelle rushed over," Mark! We're leaving! I'm not giving my kids up!" Mark laughed as Lily watched in terror, seeing her father as if the first time," You don't get it! They're my kids! I told you the consequences! Did you think you could just steal them away?!" Mark threw Lily on the ground. "How could she just steal them away from me?!" Mark thought. Isabelle tried to run towards Lily, who was twitching on the ground but still breathing. Mark pinned Isabelle against the car," You're never going to steal my kids. Not now or ever." Mark then smashed Isabelle's head against the car, in which she fell down unconscious. Lily moved her head a little to see her mother still, unsure if she was breathing or not," Mom? Please don't be dead. Don't die mom!" Lily didn't realize until her father covered her mouth with a rag that she was screaming the last part. Mark looked at Isabelle, hurt but filled with rage," I pulled strings to let them stay this long for you! How could you leave me to die?! To die in the hands of that monster!" Mark thought. Mark looked down at Lily, who was now unconcsious from the rag he covered over her. Mark opened the passenger door and placed Lily inside. Mark closed the door and dragged Isabelle out of the driveway. He checked Isabelle's pulse," Still breathing." he said as he walked to the car and drove off.
