I woke up the next morning and rushed out of bed. I started my normal schedule of craziness again today and I had to go as quick as possible.I threw on some clothes and a little bit of mascara, as I ran downstairs I saw Clark he was standing at the end of the stair case holding out a cup of coffee. I grabbed it as I ran past him and smiled.
"Thanks!" I yelled as I zoomed out the front door and to the car that had arrived earlier than expected for me. Before I got in I closed my eyes and took one last deep breath of the fresh air that was so familiar.
--
The air in the city is so different. The ocean breeze is sweet and soothing while the wind in the city is sour and unpleasant.
I ran inside the building that I worked in, I was a big actor on broadway but in the meantime when I'm not in shows I usually get cast in movies. I was there for the first time since the auditions and, of course, got the part of the main character.
This movie was a romantic comedy, my favorite, and some guy called Jacob would play my love interest. I was excited to be in my third movie, even though it was something I didn't really enjoy.
As I walked inside I was greeted by the scent of cheap perfume and cologne, holding back a cough I carried on throughout the set.
"Clarity?" I heard a soft unfamiliar voice murmur shyly. I turned my head to see a complete stranger. "Clarity Masterson?" He asked and I turned all the way to face him.
He seems nice, just act sweet and if he asks you for anything say no. I thought
"Um, yes, that's me." I said and giggled softly while he walked a bit closer to me with his hands in his pockets. "I-I'm Jacob." He said shyly and I looked down awkwardly.
I looked up quickly and smiled a bright, fake, smile. "Well, hi Jacob." I gleamed and held my hand out. He lifted his hand and shook mine.
--
We did the first reading with the whole cast and it was a bit awkward, I felt so unprofessional. To be honest, it was because I thought Jacob was..I don't know..cute.
When we stepped out my manager Mary grabbed my arm and I came to quick stop. "Clarity!" She scolded and I closed my eyes tightly, I didn't know what I did wrong but I was preparing for the worst.
"Yes, Mary." I said starting to calm down after a few moments of silence.
"Me and Jacobs manager were talking." My heart sank. "We want the two of you to become closer so the chemistry will be more realistic." My heart sank even further!
"When?" I asked letting out a nervous laugh. "Now!" She said and I looked over and saw Jacob being dragged behind his manager to where I was standing. I was so embarrassed! I thought managers were supposed to help you from getting in situations that could embarrass you, then again Mary has been my friend since I was thirteen.
He was finally let go when he arrived over at the door I was standing in front of, I was face palming, ranting and crying in my head all at the same time. The look on my face didn't help either.
"Well, go you two!" Mary shoved us out the front doors and I blushed like crazy.
"I'm really sorry about her!" I said while rubbing the part of my arm she had previously been latched onto. "No, it's fine, my manager is the same way." He said with his hands in his jacket pocket while squinting up at the building.
