Oct. 20 Tuesday
Mallory was confused. She hated feeling like she knew nothing, which led to anger. Then dialed down to acceptance. Accepting the fact that she was confused and angry at the moment. That the confusion could soon be knowledge, that the acceptance could be accepting something good that would put her at ease.
Looking up at her Mallory saw Aunt Becky, Calie and her father still there. They were all gathered around her to she if was okay and still breathing, thankfuly she was.
"Dad?" Mallory asked. This all seemed so unreal to her.
Calie let out a breath of relief and helped her dear friend Mallory up. "God mallory you scared us." Calie spoke pulling her in for a hug. "Don't ever do that again. Okay?" Calie was truly concerned for her friend, like she Mallory's mom. The mom she never had.
"Dad...is...is that really you?" Mallory asked. She looked towards Dan, her father that's been gone since the age of three. Like he was a ghost.
Aunt becky quickly guided Mallory to her bed as they were in Malory's bedroom, to explain to her whats going.
"Mallory dear, what do you remember before you fainted?" Aunt Becky asked rubbing Malory's back gently.
"I...I remember running up the stairs to my room...angry then that's it. What happend. And why is he here?" Mallory was angry and confused which angered her even more especially towards Dan the missing dad. She stood up and began to pace the room.
"I just don't understand..how can I... how can I just.. and you!" She pointed towards Dan "I just don't get it...I mean the dream I saw mom and I...god I don't understand!" Mallory was breathing heavily she dropped down to her knees and cried. She felt mixed emotions such horriable emotions.
Calie looked around unsure as to what is wrong with her bestfriend. 'Why she acting like this?' she thought. This isn't how the Mallory she knew acted. So what changed her now? Calie took notice to her surroundings and there she saw it. A half empty pill bottle, it had no label on it, just the bottle and yellow coloured pills. 'Is Mallory on drugs?' she thought. 'Is this why she's freaking out?' Should I say someylthing but Calie quickly shook that thought. Now wouldn't be the right time.
Aunt Becky had enough of Mallory's outburst "Mallory we will tell you everything and anything you want to know but please calm down" Aunt Becky was more calm and understading nothing like her late sister.
For a minute everything was quiet. When the minute pasted. Mallory started to breathe heavily again. She held her hands down on the carpeting on her floor, taking deep breaths. "Why is Dan here?"
Calie was beyond concerned for her friend, she knew it had to be the pills but still she kept quiet.
"I think Mallory needs some water or something she's... she's not breathing right." Caile said as taking a few steps back, terrified of seeing her Mallory like this.
"I don't need water I need answers!"
"Calm down Mallory we don't you to pass out again now do we?" Aunt Becky asked calmly but stern. "Nope." Mallory replied.
She got up from her place on the floor and walked over to her Aunt on the bed. Taking a second to get comfortable "Explain." Mallory demanded.
Aunt Becky was worried about telling Mallory the truth but she it was time and to be done. Then on the other hand Mallory didn't seem mentally or physically ready to hear the truth. In the end Aunt Becky decided to Mallory the truth.
"Dan...your dad...is alive and back from hiding... from your mother." well half of the truth that is.
Calie and Dan gave Aunt Becky a strange look as if asking her 'what are you doing' but quickly covered it when Mallory looked their way.
"Yeah, hiding from your mother." Calie agreed.
Mallory looked at Dan suspiciously, "I don't believe you. Why would he be hiding from my mom? I mean I know she was a bitch but she wasn't that bad. I-"
"People have secrets Mallory." Aunt Becky interrupted Mallory, trying to steer her away from asking anymore questions. "Especially this family and soon enough you will know but not now. You need to rest and well talk later. Okay?" Aunt Becky continued to talk while getting Mallory in her bed.
Mallory was in no condition to argue, so peaceful she went to sleep. The only thing herd was her soft snores. Everyone still in Mallory's bedroom stood quietly. Calie standing in front of the pill bottle, trying not to look suspicious hiding it. Dan, who been quiet the whole time staring intently at the celling fan. Then Aunt Becky eyeing them both, Calie more than Dan.
"Calie we already know about the pills." Aunt Becky stated to the nervous Calie.
"If you knew then why didn't you say anything. She's taking nonprescription pills. Drugs!" Calie whisper harshly.
"Because these" Aunt Becky gestured towards the pills "Will be great for our story. Wouldn't it Dan?" Aunt Becky smirked mischiefly. Dan nodded in agreement.
Aunt Becky turned on her heels and walked out the door followed by Dan and Calie. As the door shut closed Mallory's eyes shot open. She turned to the yellow pills and sucked in a deep breath. She was awake the whole time.
Mallory didn't know what they were up to but she knew they couldn't be trusted.
