100 reads! Wow! I know that's not a lot in comparison to the really popular stories but I wrote this for fun and I wasn't even gonna publish it but then I decided to lol. Well, thanks for reading! Leave a vote maybe?? ((':

"We've decided we are going to venture out." Sam spoke. His wife who's name I can't remember stood beside him with her hands inside her khaki pockets.

My dad took a deep breath. I swallowed hard.

"But, not until tomorrow night. We get all of our combat stuff ready tonight, and then we prepare a plan tomorrow and at ten o' clock we'll head out." David added. I looked over at my mother, who was looking at the ground. Kyle was fidgeting with his thumbs.

"So here's the plan." Sam said. He explained that we would head out, ready to fight. Then, while some of us would keep watch, Sam, David, and my dad (who knew how to fix the electricity) would check out the boxes and generators and attempt to figure out what malfunctioned. Then, we would wait until they fixed it, go back inside, and bam. We're done here.

The plan made me a little nervous. They acted as if the whole thing was nobody's fault. Maybe a faulty wire somewhere; nothing big. I had a different perspective. I was sure that Toby did too, from the skeptical look on his face as they explained what we would do. I tried to be optimistic, I mean; it could have been an accident. But, from the looks of it it definitely wasn't.

I wiped the thoughts from my head. Maybe I've been reading too many books lately. Fictional books, I might add.

After the meeting, I decided to go to the training room. With all of the stress lately, I figured, why not. I could take out my anger on the tread mill like usual, then maybe I'd be able to sleep.

I arrived at the training room, and took a really deep breath. Then, I turned on the treadmill and began running.

Fifteen minutes later, I was sweating like a pig and I emotionally and physically drained. I just wanted to crawl into my bed and cry!

I internally debated quitting, but decided to keep going. I poured my heart into the treadmill, running harder and harder as my stress seemed to melt away little by little.

"Taking your anger out on helpless treadmills, I see?" Calum said, out of no-where.

"Shut up Calum." He just smirked.

I took a final stride, turning the settings down for a little cool down. Then, I jogged slowly for a minute or two, calming my nerves and helping me to breath easier.

Calum had just begun working out, and he was lifting weights to begin.

"Well, I'm gonna go to my room for a little while. See you at dinner Cal." I smiled, grabbing a light purple yoga mat from the cabinet and a bottle of water.

"Bye Carter!" He waved by, nearly falling off the bench-press.

I burst out laughing, that clumsy dork.

I pretty much ripped open the lid of my water bottle, chugging down nearly the entire thing.

Walking into my room, I glanced at Alison's bunk. It was still neatly made from the morning we left.

After doing yoga for a half an hour, I decided I was done for the day. My body was screaming in soreness, but I guess it has been a while since I've had one of these days. So I rolled up the mat and tied the ribbon around it, propping it up in the corner of my room. Yoga mats are cute I guess, especially when they match your room. This one didn't match completely, but Ali's comforter set had various shades of purple. It matched her things, and my indecisive mind decided on grabbing it before I got teary-eyed and threw it back into the rack.

Knowing my dad, I'm sure he put the mats in there especially for me. Since I was a few years younger, I've always tried to do yoga once a day, and it helped me relax before bed at night. While in the morning, it woke me up. It was probably a psychological thing actually, but now it's just a stress reliever.

There were three water bottles laying on the ground from my chug session. I tossed them in the trash, angling my arms so that it seemed like I was shooting a basketball. Making all three 'baskets' I had an accomplished smirk on my face. Ball is life.

Dinner was different tonight. There was small-talk. The mood had completely changed since we got back.

I was almost relieved. This silence was deafening.

While we had all bonded in the recent 'events' there was a thick tension in the air. I assumed it was because of the worry, but also relief that it wasn't their loved one that went missing.

I ate my food gratefully, appreciating the peanut M&M's at the bottom of the box. Then, using the lemonade mix, I made some lemonade, it was sour but still good. It felt good to drink something other than water.

Everyone else did the same, I heard various water bottles being shaken and candy packets being torn open.

I took another swig of my semi-sour lemonade.

"Feeling any better now that you worked out the entire day?" Kyle asked. He always teased that I worked so hard some days, but ate junk food and pizza, ruining my chances of getting abs. I've never cared, anyways. Working out has been my outlet, along with soccer, although I didn't play on a team last season due to an injury to my ankle. It took me a while to get back on track, but now I'm as recovered as I can get.

"Yeah," I replied shortly.

"Are you like, okay? Dad said he'll take a few of us back out to look in the city for her again." Alyssa suggested, I nodded my head.

"Yeah that'd be great. Thank you Alyssa."

We weren't best friends or anything, but I know that her and Alison really clicked in the few weeks that they met. In a normal day, they probably wouldn't have been friends, but neither would Calum and I. Only in tragedy do you realize the people around you for who they really are.

so the MRE meal that they're eating is pictured above I've eaten them before they're pretty good haha

The military issues them to soldiers and others to carry and they have these little things that you put water in and it heats up your meal for you using no electricity and it's pretty simple getting them so obviously bunkers would have them because it's an easy meal that you can carry with you.
