Chapter 2: Welcome To Topaz Tree High School

>Hayden's POV<

As I lay in the covers, the heat of the morning son hits my eyes. I growl deeply trying to not to wake up from that wonderful slumber. Not like a Sleeping Beauty but a nice slumber. Then I feel one of the dogs pounce on top of me and its pretty evident on who is the culprit of disturbing my sleep. "C'mon Aspen please stop." I say, groaning as he continues to pounce playfully. So i cannot bear it and start to get up. Rising from the covers I grab Aspen and hug him a nice morning hug.

He struggles out of my grip and I laugh a little and then let him go. He runs and grabs his favorite stuffed toy and brings it to me. I gently tug at it and he fiercely tugs against me. I playfully growl at him and he does the same. Soon he tugs and I pretend to lose grip of his toy. He looks at me, his head slightly tilted and I look at it Aspen with playful shock. His tail goes into a fit of wagging and he decided to just jump around on my bed. I laugh and grab him and pull Aspen towards me. He soon calms down a lays down on my lap. I rub his soft fur and his small little body rises and falls. Soon there is a knock at the door and Aspen, Kodiak, and Jake look at the door on alert.

Soon Marilyn, my maid/friend enters to the door. Kodiak runs her way and wags his tail fantically, greeting her with his love. "Morning Kodiak. Morning Hayden." She says. "How're you this morning?" I ask. She looks at me with a smile and says, "Well I'm doing great. Just doing the usual stuff. And also breakfast is ready for you. For Sunday brunch you have the option of chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream or chocolate chip waffles. And also you have the option of a freshly picked fruit bowl or out meats galore. Which would you like?"

"Ill take the pancakes and meats galore please!" I say cheerfully. She nods and leaves the room. When the door closes i get up from my bed, and Aspen hops off my lap and goes to lay on his bed. I strip off my Calvin Klein boxer briefs and step into the bathroom. I run on the hot water in the shower. I step in and let the hot water soak my body. It feels good. I start cleaning my self and then quickly hop out and dry up.

I quickly put on some nice jeans, a pair of Sperry boat shoes, and a long-sleeved silk shirt and jogged out of my room and into the hallways, with some servants attending to their duties. I greet every person who I pass with kindness and they return the favor. I soon reach the wide balcony, where my mom and dad wait for me. "Morning mom and dad!" I say. The look back at me through the flapping silk curtains and my mother says sweetly, "Hello Hayden. We've been waiting for you." We all sit down at the nicely decorated table, where a nice bouquet of Cyanus flowers lays in a beautiful vase decorated by sea shells and with Sapphires, Aquamarine, and Zircon gems fitted in, giving the beautiful blue of the sea.

Soon the brunch was served and we dug into the amazingly cooked breakfast before each one of us. Soon my dad puts his fork down and clears his throat. He looks at me and says, "Hayden, just to let you know that we are taking a trip in the later afternoon today. We have the maids already packing your clothes and everything you'll need for this trip." Hmm. a trip. how interesting. Then dad continued saying, "We want to have you experience whats outside the kingdom. So you okay with this?" I looked at him like he wouldn't know my answer. He laughed and said, "Okay. Well after brunch, you have about 2-3 hours to hang around and then get ready to leave."
