Fallen Absol {Pokemon Fanfic}

Prologue

-|Katie's POV|-
I ran through the forest. Ara, my shiny absol, following a couple of inches behind. I heard gunshots and I knew our pursuers we closing in.

~|We have to face them!|~ Ara said through telepathy.

"I know!" I replied, panting. Fear was rising in my stomach. Would Ara and I be able to fight them off?

I spun around."Ara use Blizzard!" Ara opened her mouth and it began to glow. She shot out multiple icicles leaving the opposing Garchomp frozen.

"Alright!" I cheered.

~|Don't thank me yet!|~ Ara said.

One of my pursuers used a full restore.

Crap

"Garchomp Toxic!" He called.

Once again,

Crap

A purple puddle formed under Ara and she gasped in pain.

"Ara!" I shouted

~| I'm fine!|~

"Alright, Ara hyper beam!" I said as Ara shot a beam at the Garchomp.

"Gar!" It cried.

"Garchomp Outrage!" The man shouted. Garchomp's eyes glowed red and he charged at Ara.

"Dodge quick!" I cried but it was too late, Ara was tossed recklessly around like a pokédoll.

"Ara!" I screamed catching her as she fell.

~|Don't worry Katie|~

"A-are you sure? I asked, tears streaming down my face.

~|Positive|~

"Ok...Dark pulse!" I watched as Ara shot the attack at the Garchomp.

"Thrash." My attacker called. Ara was slashed and a wound opened, bleeding badly. I grabbed my last full restore and was about to use it when the worst thing that could ever happen happened.

"Poison jab."

I watched in horror as the Garchomp dug his poison claw into my precious Absol.

"Ara!" I screamed. I ran to her side. I sent out my Lapras, Shelly and asked her to guard me and Ara. Grabbed my backpack and rummaged through it. I searched for anything that could heal Ara and I found a revive hidden in a pocket."Please work please work please work!" I cried. My absol was deathly still and tried to use the revive.
I looked up just in time to see my Lapras get hit with thrash.
"Ice beam!" I shouted. Shelly shot the Garchomp and left him fainted.

About time.

"Retreat!" One of the men cried. I fired my pistol just to get them running. I looked back down at my absol.

Nothing.

No sign of life...nothing.

I cried by Ara's side with Shelly looking down, tears streaming down her eyes.

Ara was dead.

I knew this was the Pokemon war but..

Why?

Why Ara?

I loved her. I cared from her. I hatched from an egg. I saved her life and she saved mine.

Why?

I woke up screaming as tears hit my bed's mattress."Ara!" I cried."Why?!?" I screamed into my pillow in rage. Punching it vigorously. I pulled at my hair and kicked my legs around. I looked up at my clock.
12:09 am.
Darn it.
I'll never fall asleep.
Sure enough I spent the rest of the night punching my pillow, screaming, crying, and kicking.
My absol...
My friend...
Ara...
Was dead.
