I sit staring out of the car window, bored out of my mind. My parents are talking, but I can't hear them.
Hi, I'm Alison. I live in Ropetown, Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm turning 15 in 2 months. Normally, I could pass for a typical teenager, but I can't because I'm deaf. I'm also stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. Why, you might ask?
Well, I'm paralyzed from my waist down, and the doctors had to amputate both legs from below my knees. Can you believe that I still need help getting in and out of my bed? And, my bed has a railing on the sides, so that I won't fall off during the night. I'm not able to walk at all. It's so pathetic.
I get a notebook in the face, which brings me back to the real world. It says, "Are you sure that there isn't anyone you want to have a sleepover with?"
I grab my lucky pen from my bag and write, "Yes mom, I'm sure." Ugh.
Welcome to my world. This is how I talk to people. Through pen and paper. Again, pathetic. I pass the notebook up to the front of the car, waving it around until my mom swipes it angrily out of my hands. Once she's turned back around, I grab my iPad, and go on Wattpad. I pull up Talks and Texts by Z-Aquarius-Kai.
