i walked down to the beach with my dad this morning. i usually would leave before him or after him. it was nice and quiet. once we got down to the beach there were three people there. matt, hayden and jack. i'm surprised jack is here. he never told me he was coming.

"morning gorgeous" he said and hugged me "i picked this up for you"

he handed me an iced coffee.

"you're the best. thank you."

"i was wondering if we could do something after this. i really need to talk to you"

"yeah, of course"

i left my coffee with jack while hayden and i took our boards to the water. we were sitting there waiting for waves.

"i think jack is gonna ask me out" i blurted out

"what? how do you know?" hayden questioned me

"he carried me home after our date because i feel asleep. he was talking to my dad outside my room and he asked my dad if he could ask me to be his girlfriend"

"oh my god. this is amazing! you and jack would be so cute."

"calm down" i laughed

after we finished practice for the day my dad lectured us and then told us we could leave.

"can we just go back to my house so i can change and then we can go talk?" i asked

"yeah that's fine"

jack carried my board back to my house for me. i ran inside and changed into a pair of jean shorts and  a black crop top. i went back outside and jack was already waiting for me.

"so where are we going?" i asked

"we're just gonna walk to that cafe in town. is that alright?" he asked

he seemed different. he seems nervous.

"yeah, is everything okay?"

"i just really need to get something off my chest and i want you to know about it."

"okay"

i grabbed his hand and i could instantly tell he was a lot more relaxed. we walked to the cafe in a comfortable silence. once we got there, i got us a table while jack ordered us coffee. he came back setting one cup down in front of him and the other in front of me. we sat there for a few seconds neither of us saying anything.

"sorry i just don't like telling people about this, especially potential girlfriends" he mumbled the last part but i heard him

"it's alright jack"

i reached both my hands across the table and grabbed his hands. i wanted him to feel safe.

"a little before i met you i was into some bad shit." he started "i was definitely hanging around the wrong people. johnson and sammy kept telling me that but of course being stubborn i didn't listen to them. the kids i was around started doing really bad things like vandalism, drinking and um even drugs. i-i j-just"

"hey, i'm not judging you and i'm not gonna judge you. you can tell me.l

he nodded before starting to talk again.

"i guess i just gave into peer pressure and i started doing it too. the drugs, they um got really bad. my parents found out and they would only let me out when i was gonna be with sam and johnson. but i kept seeming to find my way back to the drugs. i had to go to rehab for a little while but i'm better now and i've been sober for 2 months"

"jack, that's amazing. i want you to keep it that way, alright?"

"i will and i just needed you to know that before i ask you this."

"go on" i smiled

"these past few weeks with you have been amazing and you've made me really fucking happy. the happiest i've been in awhile. so will you, the gorgeous lily williams, be my girlfriend?"

"i'd be honored" i smiled

he leaned across the table connecting ours lips. i couldn't help but smile as he kissed me.

jack walked me up to my door. i checked my phone and saw that it was only 7.

"do you want to come in? we can watch movies or something."

"yea, i'd like that" he replied

we went inside and were immediately greeted by my parents.

"mr. and mrs. williams" jack smiled greeting them

"hi jack" my mom replied "how's everything?"

"great"

"we're going to go watch movies in my room" i said

i grabbed jack's hand and started leading him to my room.

"keep that door open" my dad yelled

"i will"

i was laying in bed with jack. he had his arm around me and i had my head on his chest. i looked up at him and he was already staring at me.

"it's rude to stare you know?" i laughed

"i can't help it. you're so beautiful."

i felt my cheeks heat up at his comment. he brushed a strand of her off my face and behind my ear. before i knew it he pulled me up so i was straddling his lap. he gripped the back of my neck pulling me down to his lips. our lips connected and moved perfectly in sync with each other. we were both smiling through the kiss. a few minutes later i got off of him and laid at his side once again.

"gosh you're so fucking perfect"

"jack stop" i laughed burying my face into his chest

"it's true. you make me so happy."

"we'll you make me happy too"

we laid there in silence for a few more minutes before jack spoke up.

"you know what i was thinking?"

"what?" i replied

"maybe you could teach me how to surf"

"really? you wanna surf?"

"yeah it seems fun and you like it. it's something we could do together."

"i think that'd be fun"

jack and i laid there for a little longer until his mom texted him that he needed to come home. he got up and i started to get up behind him but jack stopped me.

"stay in bed, i don't want you getting up."

i laid back down and jack covered me with the blanket. jack bent down and pecked my lips.

"sweet dreams babe. i'll talk to you tomorrow."

"goodnight jack"
