Trixie was curled in the lap of her owner, yawning with a squeak. Her master patted her head and Trixie smiled. She leapt down and stretched, waving her fluffy tail. The tag on her robin egg blue collar glinted. She rubbed against her master's leg and pawed at the door, yelping. "You wanna go out?" he said. Trixie wagged her tail and panted. He opened the door and she leapt out, rolling in the autumn leaving and shaking her fur, looking outside of the chain fence. Her black nose poked through a hole in the fence, her ears angling toward the sound of paw steps and yelping. She barely made out what the voices were, "Why is someone in there?" "Is she stuck?" "I think she's stuck." "We have to help her!" four flashes of orange and red leapt in front of her. "Don't worry, we'll get you out!" said a fox, chewing on the fence. "Wait..." Trixie said. "Maybe digging will work!" barked another, starting to dig a hole. "Wait..!" the she-fox then growled. "What?" they chorused. "I live here. With my human." "Human!" one of them laughed. "Ha! Was I hearing right? Did she say 'human?" the group snickered and Trixie blushed angrily. "He's my owner! This is my yard, now get away before I call him!" They still didn't leave. "That's it." she growled. "MASTER!" Trixie howled and barked. "MASTER, CHASE THESE MANGY ANIMALS OUT!" Her master opened the door, grabbing Trixie by the collar. "Hey! Get those fox-" the foxes were gone, and Trixie's master shouted at her.

Sirens blazed through the air and Trixie was hiding under a chair. Her master had metal things around his hands and people were out holding their notepads. He was escorted out and Trixie was loaded into an animal control car. Her ears flattened in horror and she scratched at the door that was blocking her for her owner.  She whined loudly and barked and yelped uncontrollably. Trixie was being sepparated from her home, and there was no going back.
