Day 0: The beginning
The performance was rough. Vocally, the girls were all off. Lauren's voice felt strained from the amount of singing she had just done. The choreography was off too. With one girl missing everything was off. The fans were tweeting and asking if Camila was ok. The girls were just as in the shadows as the fans were about if Camila was ok.
The girls headed back to the hotel, they had a few days in New York before the opening night of tour. That gave Camila three days to get back to the girls, at least that's what the girls had hoped for.
Lauren snuck off and hoped onto the tour bus, looking for her wallet that must have fallen out of her bag when she left the bus to go to the hotel. The bus was dead silent, no one was on it and nothing on the bus was on. It was the most peaceful their tour bus would ever be. Lauren walked over to her bunk and drew open the curtain. Sure enough, her wallet was siting promptly on top of the blankets that filled her bunk. She let out a sigh of relief and picked up the wallet. When she stood up she noticed something sticking out of her wallet that wasn't there before. A small real estate business card stuck out slightly from where her credit card sat snug in her wallet.
Confused but intrigued by what this was, Lauren pulled the card out of her wallet. 'Richard Jacobs, Los Angeles Real Estate Agent'. Lauren instantly recognized the name and the face on the card. The name on the card matched up with the memory of Lauren and Camila's random day adventure in LA when the girls were recording their album.

"I love hotels but it would be so much fun if we rented a house and just the five of us lived there whenever we're here in LA." Camila exclaimed, laying down on the couch in the lounge area of the studio.
"Can you imagine the five of us functioning in a house by ourselves? We would kill each other over food on night one." Lauren laughed, taking a sip from her water bottle. She took a seat in the chair across from Camila and watched as the brown haired girl pulled her phone out and unlocked it while laying down.
"Just think about it. We could call it the harmony house and have a pool and Ally could have the biggest kitchen to bake cakes in and you and me could get a cool little reading nook!" Camila explained, not taking her eyes off her phone.
Lauren was interested in what else the girl would come up with. Camila was a daydreamer and always came up with the most random and fun plans and plots.
"Look. There's a real estate agency across from the studio." Camila held her phone out for Lauren to look at. Lauren motioned for Camila to bring the phone over to her rather than Lauren getting up from the chair. "Lauren will you just look?" Camila sighed and dropped her arms off the couch as dramatically as possible.
"I just did background vocals. I'm fucking exhausted Camz." Lauren replied sarcastically and equally as dramatically. "Just get up. You've been laying there since you got out of the booth. And you were the first to go in." Lauren laughed.
Camila groaned and rolled off the couch. She rolled across the floor, which Lauren thought was gross but it was Camila so she let it slide. When Camila reached the foot of Lauren's chair she held her arm up with the phone in her hand. Lauren leaned forward and took the phone in her own hand.
"Richard Jacobs. Los Angles Real Estate Agent." Lauren read. "What do you want me to do with this?" she asked in confusion, handing the phone back down to the brown haired girl who was still laying on the floor.
"We can go in there and act all rich and cool. Like really professional business people would be." Camila explained.
"I honestly want to know what goes on in your head that says these kind of plans are a good idea." Lauren said as she stood up, carefully stepping over Camila.
The two girls snuck out of the studio and ran across the street to the real estate agency. The building was fairly small, a few cubicles and a concierge.
"Think snotty and rich." Camila said as the two approached the concierge. Lauren winked then took a step in front of Camila, speaking before Camila could even open her mouth.
Lauren bust into a British accent, surprising the smaller girl. "Excuse me. By chance would Richard Jacobs be in?" Lauren's British accent was perfected down to every syllable it was scary how good she was at doing a British accent. The concierge nodded, then told the girls to walk past the bathroom then to the left.
"Where the hell did that accent come from?" Camila laughed as the two girls walked. "I almost burst out laughing when you started talking."
"You said think snotty and rich and my head said speak in a British accent." she laughed.
The girls approached the man's cubicle. He was typing away at his computer when he noticed the girls. "What can I do for you two?" he asked, looking up at them.
Lauren cleared her throat. "I'm moving from the U.K. and was wondering if you had any mansions available around the LA area. I'm thinking one with a pool, preferably one with white marble all over and shit." Camila tried to hide her laughter at Lauren's ridiculous requests and spot on accent.
Camila brought out a different side to Lauren. A much more playful and dorky side. Camila put a hand over her mouth to cover her ever growing smile on her face.
"I'm not too sure what else I'd like though.. Oh, there needs to be a florist nearby the house, I have this feng shui thing with flowers that must be in this house as well. Also, I have cats, lots of cats, so a neighborhood I can walk them in." Camila noted how convincing of an actress Lauren was. Lauren didn't even like cats yet she made the man believe she owned thirteen. "I hope that's not long of a list of requests." Lauren finished with a perky smile.
The mans jaw was hanging open as if this was most bizarre request he'd ever received. "I'll give you my card. I will take a look, you can call when you have a set idle house and I will do my best to fulfill your needs." the man wrote his number down and handed Lauren and Camila a business card.
"Oh thank you sir. You were so kind." she smiled and winked, then took the card from his hand and pulled Camila's arm to walk away. Lauren pulled Camila's arm so the two girls' arms were linked. "I think I just flirted with a forty year old." Lauren whispered to Camila. Camila just laughed and kept walking.

Lauren looked over at Camila's bunk. Out of curiosity, she drew the curtain open. The bunk was completely untouched. A mess of blankets, banana socks, a sweater, some miscellaneous fan gifts, a small stack of books in the corner and a pair of sunglasses were left just as Camila had left it.
Lauren laughed at how Camila managed to find anything in her bunk or her suitcase even. It was always a scattered mess but she made it work for herself.
She saw the book on top of the stack. 'Paper Towns', the book Camila was reading the day before. There was her bookmark sticking out of the paper back book a little over halfway through the book.
Lauren noticed the book mark was a similar size to the business card that randomly appeared in her wallet. She picked the book up and opened it, to see the book mark was the same business card she had. This one was slightly different, it had a number written in the corner, 2713. Lauren looked at the book more closely and noticed certain letters in the text had been circled. What was Camila doing?
"Lauren?" Ally's voice rang out from the door of the bus.
"Yeah I'm coming." Lauren replied. Quickly tossing the business card back in the book and tucking the book under her arm. She'd play it off like the book was hers. Like she hadn't read the book two years ago and like Camila hadn't circled random letters in the text.
