"Are you coming to the Cullens to get ready or are you meeting us there?" Bella snapped, throwing a dress at my head. It was early, I knew that because the sun was barely up. My brain struggled, trying to remember what Alice had ordered. I wasn't part of the wedding party.
"No, I'm meeting you guys there with Jake and Seth and Dad," I mumbled, laying my head back down on the pillow.
"Don't be late," she growled, slamming the door behind her. I ignored it, pushed the dress off to the side and letting myself drift off back to sleep.
"Puppy, come on, you've gotta get ready," Jake's gentle hands woke me, a slight nudge on my shoulder.
"What time is it?" I whined, turning away from the boy and nuzzling back into the sheets.
"It's almost twelve," Jake whispered, his hand still lingering on my back. I bolted up. The wedding wasn't due to start until around 5, with guests starting to filter in at 4. But, I had to get an everything shower, get changed, decide what I'm wearing! Oh god. I also had to do my own hair and makeup, and who knows how long that could take. I should've took Alice's offer to go to hers and have her do it. I wonder what she's doing to my sister.
Stop dawdling Charlotte.
I pulled myself out of bed, extremely reluctantly. I picked the dress off the side of my bed, hanging it up and leaving it dangling over my wardrobe door.
"Jake, why are you here so early?" I asked the wolf, who was now making himself comfy in my bed. He wasn't exactly ready himself, only wearing some ripped cotton shorts. He'd dropped a plastic bag by my bed, clearly containing the clothes that he would be changing into.
"Wanted to come help you get ready," he muttered, a smug smirk adorning his face. He was leaning back, one hand behind his head and the other fiddling with Wolfie's soft grey ears. I mean, would Bella really care if I missed her wedding? Cos right now, I can think of much better things to do rather than going to a leech wedding.
Charlotte. Dawdling. Stop.
"You mean, watch me get ready?"
"Yes Ma'am."
I just snorted, leaving the room and heading for a shower, my head swirling with other ideas. My shower took less time than I thought, even with the full body shave that I had to do. I only caught my leg twice, but it really wasn't gonna match my dress. And also, we will be surrounded by blood-drinking vampires. Great. Good job Jake and Seth will be there.
I could already imagine Bella's disapproval of that comment, crying about how they're vegan! No. Vegetarian vampires, they only like animal blood. I think it's bull - I got a papercut in the cafeteria once when I was doing some homework. That blonde boy's eyes were straight on me, and he had to be borderline wrestled out by the blonde girl and the big one. So, he definitely wanted my blood.
I returned to my room, a towel wrapped around my body and hair, smelling of roses. The colour matched my dress - a strappy, soft pink dress. It was tight at the top, and flowed out at my waist, stopping between my ankle and knee. It was simple, but pretty. The whole wedding theme was simple but pretty, a theme that I thought suited Bella quite well. Even then, I know that Bella thought the wedding too much.
I was met with a wolf whistle as I dropped my towel, I blushed but ignored it. I grabbed my underwear, putting it on and settling at my vanity. My hair and makeup first.
I pulled my hair into a half up, half down style. I also curled it, making it look a little less flat than usual. My makeup was simple, a darker pink lipgloss and a light pink eyeshadow - to match the dress.
The entire time, I was also having to fight off Jake's kisses and groping.
"Jake, can you buckle my shoes?" I whined. I'd pulled my dress on, had to get the boy to zip it up, which had prompted more tomfoolery. I'd bought some matching pink heels, but the buckles were a pain and so I was making Jake do them. He didn't struggle as much as I expected.
"Don't you two look good - not as good as me though," Charlie grinned as me and Jake made our way downstairs. Seth was already here, babbling in agreement and vibrating with glee. Jake and Seth were both dressed very similar, black trousers and white shirts, without a tie. The only difference was that Seth had a brown jacket, clearly taken out of Harry Clearwater's wardrobe. It was sweet. Despite Seth's tall figure, the jacket still didn't fit him, hanging off him awkwardly. He still looked like a young boy wearing his dad's clothes.
I may be biased, but Jake suited the outfit much better.
All 4 of us climbed into Jake's rabbit, me and Seth squeezing into the back. I had to let Seth take some of my leg room, his long legs barely able to squeeze in behind my dad's seat. My dad sat in the front with Jake, he was only a passenger as he'd insisted on drinking at the wedding. He'd admitted to Billy that it was the only way he'd get through it, but I shouldn't know that information.
"Charlie! Oh you look so handsome," Alice Cullen almost whisked my dad off his feet, pushing him into the house and chattering happily about how amazing he looked and how excited she was. I couldn't tell if she was fake or not, her fangs flashing as she giggled.
We were left with the big Cullen, the one who took out Paul. My hatred was obvious, a glare settling on my face and not budging even with Jake's comforting hand. Seth and Jake took each side of me. It wasn't a protection detail to keep me away from the vampires, it was to keep me from attacking them.
He didn't make eye contact with us, even as he led us to our seats. We were sat in the back, the furthest away from the vamps. Both boys sensed them, their eyes fixated on a trio of blonde women and a dark haired couple. To the human eye, you wouldn't think anything of them, they're just an attractive family; to mine, I knew straight away. Leeches.
They sat at the front, just behind the row of leech siblings. All five of them sat up perfectly straight and alert. Their shoulders moved in sync with each other, as if they were portraying breathing. Oh wait. They were.
The humans on Bella's side, particularly the male ones, seemed entranced by the trio of blondes, eyes flicking towards them constantly. They lapped up the attention, batting their eyes and flicking their hair.
It only stopped when the music started, all of us standing to observe. This was gonna be a long day.
