It was a dark, silent night.

Amelia was writing in her dark blue notebook, not caring that the bedroom lights were turned off and she couldn't see anything properly. She knew she had to let her feelings out soon, or she would break down.

Deciding that it was getting tiring, she wrote a few more words before stopping. She leaned back in her chair, ignoring the stinging sensation around her eyes and holding back her tears. She let out a heavy sigh. She couldn't cry, not again. But she really couldn't help it.

The girl ran an eye through the few paragraphs that she wrote down in neat, small handwriting. It was a fairy tale-like story, about a happy girl living her dream. She was happy. Amelia wished she could be like that girl. But she knew that life isn't a happy fairy tale.

Her life at school wasn't easy. Amelia was bullied, and no one liked and cared about her. She only had four friends, her best friend Penny and her other friends Rachel and Roselyn. But other than that, there was nobody.

Her family at home loved her as much as they could, but Amelia couldn't bear to tell them. Her parents weren't exactly well off, but they worked as hard as they could to make Amelia and her brother happy.

A yawned and glanced at the clock. It was 11:43, which was way past her bedtime. Amelia decided to go to sleep since tomorrow was a school day.

School.

How Amelia dreaded that word.
