Chapter 13: Panics and Pancakes

August

"Daddy!" Avia said a ran into my arms.

I looked over at Zolee who just stood there looking like she was shocked and relieved at the same time.

"Are you okay baby? Where were you?" Zolee said examining Avia's face and body.

"I got pancakes!" She cheered and held up a piece of paper "i made you a picture daddy."

I took it from her hand and look at it. It was an IHOP kids menu that she colored.

"Who took you to get pancakes Avia." Zolee said.

"Chris." She shrugged and rubbed her eyes.

I clenched my jaws and looked up at Zolee. She looked like she was ready to end someone's life.

She grabbed her phone and stormed off to her bedroom.

"You ready to go back to sleep?" I asked Avia.

She nodded and held up her arms to be picked up.

I walked over to her room out her bed and sat next to her. "You know you're not suppose to go anywhere without telling me or your mom right?"

"I wanted pancakes." She said making me chuckle

"Did he hurt you?" I asked and she shook her head.

"Are you sure? You can tell me you won't get in trouble. You know I'll always make sure you're safe."

"I got 2 pancakes with a lot of strawberries and a big hot chocolate." She said bouncing up and down.

I took a sigh of relief knowing that he didn't put his hands on her. I woulda found that nigga tonight and end his life if he did anything to her.

"Daddy I don't wanna go to sleep. Let's play dolls." She said getting up from her bed.

I grabbed her by her onesie and pulled her down causing her to giggle and kick her feet.

I can tell she wasn't gonna go to sleep right away from eating all that sugar from her party and the little IHOP run she just had.

"Okay let's watch a movie." I said getting up and turning on the TV

A couple minutes later she was out. I turned off the tv and tucked her in the walked out of her room.

I could hear Zolee on the phone yelling.

"That not the fucking point. You took my child out of my home without my permission. Who the fuck does that." She yelled.

"I don't care if she was crying she's my child you could've came and gotten me instead of taking her out at 3 in the fucking morning."

She continued to cuss him out for about 15 more minutes then it got quite.

I took it as a safe sign to go talk to her. I lightly knocked on her door.

"Come in" she was busying typing away on her phone.

I walked over and sat on the other side of her king size bed and cleared by throat.

"Why he take her?" I said trying to stay as calm as possible.

"He said he found her crying in her room and he wanted to make it up to her so he took her to IHOP." She sighed

"Don't he know that's kidnapping. Fuck wrong with the nigga." I said

She just sighed and shook her head. I could see the bags under her eyes. She had a long day with Avia party and everything so I decided to let it go for tonight.

I was still mad and I hope that nigga don't ever come around me or my daughter again because I just might catch a case.

"I'm gonna crash here if that's okay with you." I said standing up and waking towards the door.

She nodded and got under her covers "goodnight."

I walk out and went to make sure the doors were locked before going into the guest room.

As soon as I laid down my door opened "Daddy." Avia whined.

I sat up and sighed. "Why aren't you sleep."

My tummy hurts. She pouted.

"That's what happen when's when you eat too much sugar." I said and patted the bed "common" she ran up and climbed onto the bed.

She laid down and quickly sat up. Before I could say anything she emptied all the contents of her stomach on the bed.

"shit." I mumbled jumping out of the way.

She wiped her mouth and smiled "I feel better now."

I chuckled looking at her. She's already a handful.

I looked around for clean sheets because I didn't wanna wake Zolee up.

After cleaning up everything and giving Avia some water she was back to sleep with her legs all up on me.

I looked out the window to see the sun starting to come up.

Today been the longest day of my life but overall I'm glad Avia had fun and that she's safe. That nigga Chris better not come around anymore because I'm not allowing him around my child.

It's my job to protect her and be there for her because I ain't never had that type of relationship with my pops.

In just a few weeks this little girl has became my whole heart and I'll be damned if I loose another part of me.

Another short chapter but I couldn't leave yall hanging for long. I promise a long chapter with lots of tea next!
