Phil and I got into my car and I began to drive down the street.
"So... Where do you want to go?" I ask, looking at him for a brief moment before turning my head back to the rode.
He remains quiet for a moment. "How about we pick up some pizza and go back to your place?" Phil suggests quietly.
I smile. "Alright, that sounds like a good idea."
I drive to the closest pizza place to my house and we pick up a large pepperoni pizza. The drive back was quiet, but it was probably because we had the America Idiot album blasting. We pull into the driveway and I turn off the car and opening the door.
"Wait there." I say quickly, hurrying out of the car and running/tripping around to his side. I open his door and he giggles.
"Woah, I never knew Dan Howell was a such gentleman." He says smiling.
I smile at my shoes. "Yeah, I can be if I want to".
---
Phil and I are sat on my bedroom floor, eating pizza and laughing at the most random crap.
"No no no, but what is it that makes hippos milk pink?" I choke out, laughing too hard at Phil's random animal facts. He grins widely.
"How am I supposed to know? I give out facts, not explanations." He laughs. We both begin to regulate our breathing again to calm down the giggles. Phil plops his half eaten pizza onto the paper plate in front of him and sighs.
"What is it?" I ask. He leans onto his back and throws his arms over his head.
"This doesn't feel like a date." He states. I go quiet. Am I not what he expected? Does he not like me as much as he thought he did? I put down my pizza, beginning to feel nauseous.
"Oh." I mumble out. He props himself up on his elbow.
"So let's do something that makes it feel more like a date and not two guys hanging out." He explains bluntly, a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Like what? I'm gonna tell you something. I've never been on a date. My first boyfriend I had was because he said he liked me on the playground and then we became a thing for a week." I tell him.
He scoots over to the side of my bed and leans against it, patting the empty ground beside him. I scoot beside him and in one smooth move he slips his hand into mine and leans his head right in the crook between my head and my shoulder. I drop my head so that it's on top of his.
"You smell like raspberries" I point out quietly. "
I know."
"I like it."
He nuzzles closer. We sat like that for a few moments.
Oh God, Dan, how can you make this... More date like, I think to myself.
An idea pops into my mind.
I begin to move my thumb in circular motions over the top of his hand and kiss his head gently. He moves his head to look at me and places a gentle kiss on my lips, then goes back down to his spot between my head and my shoulder. He pulls out his phone and mutters a few curse words quietly.
"What's wrong?" I ask, concerned.
"I have to go home" he says, disappointment dripping from his face as he got up. I stand up too. "
"Alright, let's go."
I begin to open the door when Phil wraps his arms around my neck and pulls his head into my chest. I put my arms around his waist.
"I'm really happy." He says quietly, almost inaudible. I smile.
"I'm happy too" I whisper back to him. After a few more seconds, he pulls away.
"I would hug you forever if I could, but I really need to be home." He says sadly.
We both rush out of the door and into my car. About halfway into a silent drive with only the sound of a really bad music radio playing, I turn the volume down and Phil looks over to me.
"Hey! I was enjoying that!" He fake pouts.I laugh. "You couldn't possibly."
"Yeah, you're right." He says, joining my laughter. "Phil I really don't want to let you go back to your house. I'm worried, and scared" I tell him quietly. he sighs. "Dan I have to, okay?" he says, "Okay" I say reluctantly. I turn up the music and continue to Phil's. "Stop here" he says suddenly. I pull over. "Phil we aren't there yet" I say. he takes of his seatbelt. "I know but I've told you, my house is embarrassing. and I wouldn't want my dad looking out the window and seeing me do this" he says. "Do wha-" I'm cut off by Phil's lips crashing into mine. he holds them there for around 6 seconds but it seems like forever yet not long enough. he pulls away smiling. "Bye Dan I had a wonderful time, thank you, ill see you tomorrow, and you're a really good kisser" he says still smiling. he quickly gets out of the car and begins walking down the sidewalk. I smile to myself and start my way back home. I know met him a week ago, but is it possible for me to say I love him?
