ALEXANDRIA INHALED GREEDILY, a poor attempt at numbing her inner turmoil with weed. It wasn't like she was a stoned or anyways, but the girl would rather hit her pen in the bathroom before facing the day. Was there something wrong with a little self medicating?

Probably, but hey, she could be doing worse. There were more coping mechanisms that were worse than hers. This was her getaway. She woke up earlier than everyone else and hit her pen while getting ready in the bathroom.

As Alex began slipping into her high, the sound of a knuckle banging against the door lightly startled her. She'd been taking longer than she usually had. She quickly collecting her makeup and pajamas that she had shedded on the floor and popped open the door.

Ginny stood on the other side, her nose crinkling when the strong sent of marijuana came and went quickly. Thank god they didn't stink for long.

"Dude," Ginny cringed, Alex slid past her. She was ignoring the slight judgement written over Ginny's features.

"Have you heard from Max? I was supposed to get her to help me with my art project. She has the perfect mind to help me create my dreamscape model," Alex asked and Ginny shrugged, uninterested.

"No, not really. I thought you didn't hang like that?" Ginny quizzed as she turned on her toothbrush.

"No, I love Max. Whenever I hang out with her it usually turns into a a hangout with Marcus. And well, someone from Mang is always over," Alex said as an excuse. It was pure neglect on her end in all honesty, but Max had her girls and when she wanted to hang with Alex they did.

Ginny only hummed in response and began brushing her teeth. Alex took her chance to escape and walk to school at her own pace. She managed to slip past Paul and Eliza, who'd been talking about local politics. Even Georgia, who made breakfast.

This was pure desperation for alone time. However, that time was short when she seen Marcus exit his house.

His garage was wide open and when Alex got a glimpse of its contents her jaw dropped.

"You've got your own fucking garage studio!" Alex was too excited for something that wasn't hers. "Oh, you have to be in that room all night. How's the painting been?"

"There's been none," Marcus chuckled causing her to tilt her head. She looked down the street and make to him.

"Wanna walk?" Alex asked causing Marcus to nod, jogging to catch up with her. He had his backpack slung on his shoulder lazily and his thermos in hand.

"I saw Juanita yesterday. Watering her petunias," Marcus brought up with a straight face. Alex nodded and looked up to him.

"I saw her yesterday. She... told me that she signed custody over to Paul," Alex told him with a weak sigh. Marcus's face twisted into an unreadable expression at her words. She dropped that bomb way too gently.
