Prologue

The Kingdom of Triumvirate is a land different than most. This kingdom is split into three different portions, each controlled by a different leader. There is the Emperor's Land, the Archduke's Land, and the King's Land. For centuries these three lands lived in peace and worked together. The only rivalry between the lands was in sports and other recreational activities. The rulers of this kingdom are brothers.

There is Duke Augustus, a young, well liked man whom everyone enjoys. However, Augustus is not the brightest of the three. He is a fantastic leader and a born fighter, but he doesn't think before he does anything. His decisions are sometimes rash and foolishly bold. His sunny kingdom, the Duke's Land, is full of happy, normal people. The economy is strong thanks to a prosperous agricultural industry. Humans, Dwarfs, and Spiritus reside there. I'm sure you know what a human is, but allow me to explain the other two races. Dwarfs are small, human-like creatures that tend to the industrial needs of the King's land. They manufacture weapons, armor, and other metal products. They are hardworking and honest people, who want nothing more than respect. Then there are Spiritus. Spiritus are a ghost-like species of people that have magic powers. They are great healers, thanks to their powerful spells. They work in healing wounded people in the Duke's land as well as harvesting herbs and other rare plants from the forest. Most things in the Duke's Land are normal and not a lot of crazy events have occurred there.

Now we come to Emperor Humphrey. Humphrey is the eldest of the brothers. He is very wise, and very fat. The plump man knows just about everything. He is also very strict. The laws of the Emperor's Land are upheld by the Emperor's Guard. The Emperor's Guard are a group of men that can track down killers quicker than anyone else in Triumvirate. They are despised by the citizens because of their unbearable strictness. It is immensely hard to get away with even the smallest crime in the Emperor's Land. However, in the last couple of years, crime has been on the rise because of the economy. The Emperor's Land was once a place of rich natural resources. The finest gold and silver was found there. Yet nowadays the land is not as fruitful. After decades of harvesting minerals and such, the land is empty. Now the land is used to mine coal and other resources meant for energy. It is very urban and industrial in this part of Triumvirate. Humans and Mountain Men live in the Emperor's Land. Mountain Men are just like humans, except much bigger and stronger. Most Mountain Men are above eight feet and, believe me when I say this, can usually lift up to three times their body weight. They are kind and quite dim, but lovable among all.

Lastly, we come to King Adrian. The youngest brother of the group, and the craziest. The man is out of sorts. King Adrian is a short, sickeningly skinny man with a dark and twisted mind. The King's Land is full of dark magic and witchcraft. The place is full of swamps and forests, with no real cities. Witches, Tenebris, and Oculums live there. Witches are not green with a big nose as you might imagine. Witches are tall, beautiful creatures that lure unsuspecting victims into being tortured and brutally murdered. Tenebris are the grim reapers of the King's Land. They are black hooded figures who are said to be the henchmen for King Adrian. The final species of the land are Oculums. Oculums are short, ugly creatures. Their skin is pure white. However, their eyes are as black as the depths of the ocean. They are thieves and liars, as well as murderers. The King's Land can be described as a living Hell.

Now that you know the background, let's hop into the story. But I must first warn you, this is no fairy tale with a happy ending. This is a saga of bloodshed and battle. A tale of pain and suffering. But at the same time it is a fable of victory and prosperity. A story like no other, in a land like no other, and an outcome like no other.
