*Steven's POV*

Five days. It had been five days since I was kicked out of my own home, five days since I had seen my family, five days since I had even muttered a word. All I did was lay in bed in my hotel room and stare up at the ceiling.

What I couldn't accept was that everything that had happened was all my fault. The only people who knew about what had happened were Emily, Norman, and Alanna. They were trying to fix things between Lauren and I, but it wasn't exactly working. According to Emily, Lauren started sobbing every time my name was mentioned.

Why was I such an idiot?!

Suddenly, there was a knock on my hotel room door. I made my way to the door with a sigh, opening it to see a man with a small package. "Are you Steven Yeun?" I gave the man a nod and he handed me the package. "Have a nice day," he said before leaving.

My hand pushed the door until it shut and I went back over to the bed. I stared down at the package. I was hesitant to open it after looking at the return address. It was from Lauren.

Here goes nothing.

Slowly, I opened up up and pulled out a small bag that held two pieces of jewelry. It was as if my heart was torn in half when I realized what they were.

Lauren's wedding ring and the necklace I gave her.

There wasn't even a note, it was just those two things that I thought meant so much to Lauren. Apparently I was wrong.

I held the ring in my hand, just looking down at it until tears started to fall down my face. My lips gently pressed against the ring and whispered my first words since the incident. "I'm so sorry, Lauren. I'm sorry, Emmie. This is all my fucking fault."

*Lauren's POV*

"Are you even gonna get out of bed?" I asked Emmie late in the afternoon as she laid under the covers. "You can't just lay in bed and hide from the world, Emmie." I pulled the blankets off of her face.

"Watch me!" She pulled them back over her head and I sighed.

The both of us had been....different since the whole thing with Steven. Emmie was still furious with him for what he did, as was I, but she still missed him, I could tell.

"Emerson," I started and threw the sheets and blankets off of her. "Come on. You're gonna get out of bed!" She groaned as I reached down and grabbed her arms, pulling her out of bed.

"Nooooo!"

I let go of Emmie and sat down on her bed to face her. "Emmie, I know you're upset and I know that this all sucks, but you can't always just hide from your problems," I began, pulling her to my side. "I'm going through the same thing, so I know how you feel, Em. Now I'm not good at these inspirational talks so I'm gonna say this. Let's go do something fun!"

"Fine," she agreed and I pulled her down the stairs, trying to be quiet 'cause the twins were napping. "What are we even gonna do?" Emmie asked once we were downstairs.

I thought for a moment before an idea popped into my head. "We are going to make you a cake!" She gave me a weird look. "Emmie! It's your birthday if a few days!"

"Oh," she mumbled, looking down at the ground.

"Hey, cheer up. If I can be happy, you can." The truth was, I wasn't happy. If I hadn't of acted happy, Emmie probably would've been even worse.

Emmie didn't reply, giving me another idea. As we began to pull out the ingredients, I grabbed an egg and held it behind my back. "Alright, if you aren't gonna smile, I'll make you smile."

"What do you-" I cut her off by smashing the egg on her head. Emmie's mouth dropped open and she wiped her eyes. "You'll pay for that!" She laughed before grabbing to eggs and doing the same to me. Emmie climbed up on the counter and jumped onto my back , quickly pouring the batter powder in my hair.

After that, it was a complete mess of us laughing and throwing food at each other. I was about to splash Emmie with a carton of milk when the house phone started ringing.

Emmie and I both laughed before I grabbed the phone and answered it. "Hello?" I said, trying to contain my laughter.

The person seemed very hesitant to say something. "Uh....Lauren?"

Steven.

My smile instantly fell when I heard his voice. I glanced over at Emmie who was looking down at her feet. When I didn't respond, he spoke again. "Lauren, I'm sorry. Please I-"

I quickly pulled the phone away from my ear and hung up.

Emmie and I both stayed silent until she saw my wedding ring was gone. "Where's your wedding ring?" I saw the worry in her eyes. "Are you and daddy gonna get a divorce?"

I sighed, holding my arms out. "C'mere." I carefully picked her up. I had always loved the fact that she was still so small 'cause it meant I could carry her. "I honestly don't know Em, I really don't know."

A/N: \/\/ Please read!!!! \/\/
I'm soooo sorry that this chapter is so fucking bad and poorly written. I've been having these absolutely horrible heart pains and it's been keeping me in bed and in a bad mood and I've only got a couple of people who are making sure I'm okay which is depressing. So basically  it's hard to find the motivation to write. So once again I apologize and I will try doing better with my writing but would you guys hate me if I were to take a break? Who am I kidding nobody reads these authors notes. Well for those of you who might read these, thank you so much. Hopefully I'll be able to update soon!
