Boop (Iruka x Reader)

Boop~

It was just another normal day in the village, you of course had the day off, so you were currently taking a walk. Walking aimlessly, you wound up in front of the Academy. A smile made its way onto your face as you got closer and stepped inside. "I wonder if Iruka is here grading papers up." You muttered to yourself and walked down the hall to his classroom. It was normal in a way for you to walk into his room, of course, only when his students weren't there unless you had an important message from the Hokage.

"Never knew a time, when you weren't by my side.
The one thing I could always count on.
Always there for me, you've been my family.
Even when all other hope was gone."

As you made your way to his classroom, you heard a door slide open. You stopped as you saw Iruka walking out of the room. He seemed to look frustrated, "Iruka!" You called out to him waving your arm in the air hoping to catch his attention. "Hm? Oh (y/n)." He warmly smiled at you ,waving back. "What are you doing here?" He asked, raising a brow a bit curious as to what you were doing here. Though he was already used to seeing you on normal occasions, he was more focused on the papers he needs to grade. "Oh well, I just wanted to see if you were free today." you responded. Iruka shook his head, frowning. "No, thanks to my last mission I've gotten behind on my grading." He rubbed the back of his neck. You pouted slightly and thought for a while. "Well, how about I help you?" You suggested, hoping to at least spend some time with the Umino male.

 This caused a toothy smile to appear on the male and nodded slightly. "If you don't mind helping me. I'd really appreciate." Slightly shaking your head, returning a smile. "No, not at all!" You placed one hand on your hip and with the other you gave him a thumbs up. "Hehe, thank you (y/n)." 'You always seem to appear when I need someone the most. So this time I'll help you.' you thought to yourself as he slides open the door for you to enter. "I'll be right back. Could you please get started before me." He said before walking down the hall. "Got it!" You called out and went over to his desk. He had already started grading some of the papers, so you made a small stack from the ungraded ones and started working right away.

"But for a while things have seemed so different,
Like it's the same but still brand new.
I can't believe it, when did I start to fall for you."

A short time had passed since he had left and you were already half way done with the third small stack you had gotten earlier. That's when you glanced out at the window taking a short break from grading. Even though you had offered to help, you haven't even spending actual time with him. Lately that's all you've been wanting to do since before you had a day off, especially since the last mission you with him. During that short time something had changed in you that caused you to feel a certain way about the Umino. Sure, you had been assigned in many missions with him before and you had known him for at least five years by now but things have changed since then. The deeper your thoughts went the less confusing it felt. That's when you realized that you were actually in love with Iruka.

"Have I lost my mind, have I just been blind,
Never to have seen you might be,

We've been together for a long long long long time.
I've never thought that you and I could be a thing.
I can't believe it, this is happening."

A short chuckle escaped your lips and shook your head. "I should have realized it since that day." "What should you have realized since that day?" The sudden voice made you flinch. "I'm so sorry for taking long, I had to go practically to the other side of the village just to find your favorite snack." Iruka entered the room an embarrassed smile on his lips. A light hearted chuckle escaped your lips and you shook your head. "It's alright and you really didn't have to." Your cheeks tinted with a lovely shade of pink. The male just smiled and placed the snack on the table.
