Never Be Alone (Shawn Mendes fanfic)

Chapter 1

'Just keep walking' I think to myself as I make my way down the halls of Winchester Academy.
'Don't make eye contact'
'Breathe'

All of a sudden I get slammed up against the lockers, both arms being held up by Kenzie and Lauren. And Hayley Carney, the most popular girl in school, standing in front of me controlling their every move. Hayley comes up to me and slaps me right across the face. "Do it girls" she says and they both punch me right in the stomach so hard that I would collapse if they weren't still holding me up. Hayley starts to walk away, so Kenzie and Lauren follow, allowing me to crash onto the floor, unable to move. 

It's only me in the hallway crawled up on the floor, crying and unable to move. I hear these footsteps, getting closer, I think they're running. I hear someone saying "I'm sorry" over and over, the voice sounds familiar but I can't figure out who it is. They pick me up gently and take me to their car, but I can barely open my eyes so I can't really see anything. Everything's getting darker and quieter, until I can't hear or see anything.

I wake up and manage to ask "Where am I?" I tried to lift my head, and it worked, painfully, but I could move.

"Hey, be careful, don't move too much, you're in the hospital." It was the voice of the boy who saved me in the hallway. I glanced up and saw none other than, Shawn Mendes. Shawn has brown hair that's pushed back in some sort of quiff, and these gorgeous light brown eyes.

"What are you still doing here?" I ask. I've never even spoken to Shawn until now.

"Well I did bring you here. I mean, what kind of person would I be if I left you here alone?" 

"A normal one." I mumble. He looked at me, saddened. 

"Well, I'm not normal." He says. I just lay there staring at him, while he stares back.

"I got a hold of your dad and-"

"Let me guess, he's 'busy'" I cut him off, to his surprise. And all he could do was stare at me, probably wondering why my own father isn't here to see me. My father doesn't care much about anything anymore, ever since my mom passed a few months ago.

Shawn came and sat next to me on the hospital bed and grabbed my hand, ever so gently and told me I should get some rest and that i should be able to leave later tonight.
