"How are you doing?"

Usagi sat upwards on the bed where she had spent the night, her eyes sad as she looked everywhere but at the person in front of her.

"... Sore." Was her almost inaudible answer.

Neji sighed, looking at her healing skin. It was still very bruised, though it was much better than it had been.

"What happened?" He asked, sitting down across from her on his bed.

Once again, she avoided his gaze. She wouldn't say why she had been taken. She didn't want him to hate her too.

Neji hated when she fell into such a mood. He could deal with her when she was angry or excited or upset, but when she was depressed to this extent... It had to be Kakashi.

He hated the fact that Kakashi was the only one who could cheer her up, but he accepted the fact. Kakashi was and always would be number one to Usagi.

"Usagi, please." Neji said, holding her round face gently in his palms in the hopes she would at least look at him for a second.

But even with her face in front of his, her eyes looked at everything in the room but him.

She had gone back to her old ways, back to when she wouldn't say anything at all.

Her confidence had diminished, and so had her voice.

"I don't know what happened, or why your father was so upset, but I know you. I know you put his happiness ahead of yours. When I spoke with Kakashi, he was anything but happy about your state. Like I said, I don't know what happened, but I know you can fix it."

Fix it... that's what Usagi's been trying to do her entire life. Problem after problem, she had been trying to fix all the things she had fucked up, but now? Now that she had screwed up beyond what she had thought possible, she was tired. Usagi didn't feel like doing anything, but she didn't want to stay here and bother Neji with her problems. She had already imposed long enough.

She stood up, pushing her lover away. "Thank you." She whispered as she walked to the door. 'Thank you Neji... thank you for caring.'

Neji didn't protest. He knew she needed some time alone, some time to think. "Don't let yourself get hurt again." He said.

She glanced backwards, her eyes meeting his. She smiled softly before leaving the room.
