The Reflection

Just as I was entering the school, I realized I had forgotten my bracelet. Sorry, my LUCKY bracelet. I know many of you don't believe luck, but I do. I started to see bad luck in everything. The steep passage which leads to the school, I thought that I would slip and then come rolling down hurting myself badly. I was walking too cautiously. When I reached the school after walking on the inclination, I heaved a sigh of relief. But, it is just the beginning. The day in school has just started, and anything can, and if you are interested in science, (you can call it a nerd) according to Murphy's law, and I quote "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." And I can think of a gazillion things that can go wrong on this very day itself. And FYI, I am Micah. The boy who forgot his bracelet (I can't stop thinking about it!).

Walking to my class, I met my friend Patrick Jane." Hey Patrick!" I said. He replied, "Hey bro"." Ready for today's class test?" he asked. I said, "What Test? I can't remember of any test today."

"But our Social Science teacher is taking a test of Chapter 1,2 and 3 of History". He said. Did you notice? BAD luck, and by the way, History is my favourite subject (that was sarcasm). I can easily score a 2 or 3 out of 10 in it. The bad day has just started. I looked at my watch too check the time, and Boom! I forgot to bring my watch. I don't think God is really happy with me!

Both of us reached the class. The bell rang and the teacher entered the class. As soon as ma'am entered she told us to sit down as she had to make an announcement. She told," Today I will change everybody's seats." I said in mind," That's fine, because I really don't like my partner." Her name is Jessica. She always boasts about how much money she has, and that his father is so successful, she has her own private driver and has three sedans that are all brand new. All of her cars are always brand new! The teacher started announcing that who will sit with whom, and as soon as my name came up, I thought that this would be the first good thing that will happen to me on this bad day. She said," Micah will be sitting with Alexa." I thought Alexa! Oh my God! No! Not with her. Please. She is the last person that anyone would ever think of sitting with. First of all, she is a failure from the last section. That's why she always cheats others' answers. Well, I can't do anything about it. Classes went by. The 1st period, then science, then P.Ed, then English. Everything was going fine. Then came recess. We took out our tiffin boxes, recited the pair and then went into the ground. Just as I was walking to the place where usually all my friends sit, there was a very large puddle of water formed on the surface of the ground. I was my reflection in it. The water was still so everything was clear. I saw something in the puddle move. I touched it with my hand. As soon as I touched it, someone I don't know who, pushed me and I fell into the dirty buddle. Darn! What this the only day I had to forget my bracelet! When I stood up, all wet and my white shirt was super dirty. The whole ground was empty. Not even a single child. I went into the school and found the same situation there. Then I saw standing in front of me . . . . . . .me! It was me. My reflection! Now I understood. I had entered the world of reflection. I went to my reflection. He was as shocked to see me as I was when I first saw him.

I explained everything to him. We both tried to exchange a handshake but couldn't, because he was my reflection. I was very happy to have discovered a new place. I asked him where everybody was. He said that only the person who fell in the puddle and his/her reflection will be in the dimension. I asked whether he knew if anyone else had discovered this place. We went to our home (as it was the same) and I stood in front of the mirror in my room. There was nothing. I couldn't see my reflection. But my reflection could see his reflection (so confusing!). I asked my reflection why it happened. Me told me (Ha!) that only the citizens of this world can see their reflection. Not outsiders. I was amazed. I told my friend that I can't wait to tell my friends about this place. He told me," Please don't tell others about this place. It should stay a secret between the both of us." I said," OK." I didn't question it because a lot of things were going on in my head." I asked him how I would be able to go back. He said that I would have to jump back into the puddle. We exchanged our goodbyes and we tried to give each other a hug. But we couldn't. Our heads bumped into each other. I don't know what happened. But my reflection vanished just in a split second. I was back in school without jumping into the puddle again. Every child was back. When I looked back into the puddle, I couldn't see my reflection. I turned back and went to my friends. I didn't tell them anything about it. They asked my where I was. I replied," Nothing, just fooling around."
