Maggie's Pov:

Omg it's the day I've dreaded my 18th birthday! On my 18th birthday I shift into my werewolf for the first time it's also the day I start looking for my mate. I know your thinking how could she not be looking forward to this. Well my dad died when I was 12 and left me with an abusive mother and a younger brother Jake.

Grumbling I get up and shuffle to my closet. Well to celebrate my birthday I should wear something pretty. I pick out some skinny jeans and a red shirt. I look at myself in the mirror I'm not ugly and I've been told many times I'm pretty but I just don't see it. I have black hair down to my mid back. I am skinny but not to skinny. I have a nice butt and my boobs aren't bad says many guys. I tie my boots up and grab my bag and run down stairs ready to face the day.

As I get down stairs I know my mom is hitting my 16 year old brother. I burst in to the room and shout" WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE?". My mom looks at me in shock. Then she stalks over to me and gets right up my face and says" Who do you think your talking to?". Me having and abnormal amount of confidence I challenge her by shoutingYOU! She steps back and glares at me and has the nerve to say" I'm only not beating you right now because its your birthday". Then smiles and walks away. THE BITCH ACUTLY HAD TO NERVE TO SMILE AT ME.

Jakes Pov:

I woke up early this morning I was gonna surprise my big sister with a good morning breakfasts. I love my sister she's been with me for everything.So i was in the middle of making breakfast for her and my mom came down. She was beyond pissed.i wondered if it was from her one night stand. Well I didn't have time to think about that cause soon I was pinned against a wall and my mom was beeting me while I cried. She kept shouting you we're a mistake and your worthless and then she stopped when my sister pissed voice shouted "what the heck is going on her". I felt like running to her and crying.But I couldn't cause at that moment my mom had turned her attention to my sister and I know not to get involved with that. I wished I could have been more help.

Maggie's Pov
As my mom left I saw my brother in the corner. I ran over to him and asked what happened. "I was just trying to make a birthday breakfast I'm sorry sissy".I felt really bad he was shaking and crying and I wasn't there to stand up for him.From this day forward I made a promise to myself I will always be there for my little brother!
