The population Is Roughly 19,129.[1] It is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Eustis High School is the town's local public high school.
The City of Eustis holds a festival every year which begins on the last Friday of February and runs through Sunday. This festival, referred to simply as GeorgeFest,in also in
Eustis' native "daughters and sons". They continue to help grow and build the city known as "The City of Bright Tomorrows".
The festival celebration includes: A Nubian Pageant, the Heritage Banquet, Festival Parade, and Arts, Crafts and Entertainment Festival - with vendors and a variety of delicious foods.
Most importantly at the Black Achievers banquet we shine the spotlight on several individuals, young and old, that have achieved a great deal. Their contributions to the foundation of the city of Eustis; improving the quality of life for people and their academic achievements in their lives is one of the reasons why we take this opportunity to pay homage by honoring them at this prestigious event.
February is Black History Month. We annually recognize and remember the "fight" that gave us our Civil Rights; remembering the unrest and frustration of living with inequality in this country that caused us to resist and say, "No more injustice." The sweat, the tears and the blood spilled just so we could be free . But Growing Upp in A Town With racism No Job in No Father Figure i Started To Go Down Hill I Always Was Good At Sports in i Always Loved The Florida Gators In Iwas Heavily Recruited In Football my starting position was Wide receiver in Slote Receiver But i Played Anywhere from running Back Quarter Back Even tight End . My Senior Year came around but by then i had Not 1 Not 2 But 3Run Ins With The Eustis police Department over The Summer Soo My 1st 3 Major scholarships Got Pulled Soo Now iwas looking. At 2 Maybe 3 Small colleges but Even When I Tryed To give Them A call They Neva Answered That Made Me Feel The Worst Pain I could Ever feel to kno that iworked this hard For Soo long Just Not To play College Football At Florida That Was My Dream Ever Sens Iwas 5 end Now No colleges wanna Help Because of 1 mistake a made Soo Now That i Graduated High School in Football was Over IHad To options Either Go outta State in Become a walk on at A Jr College Or Join The Family Business?
