I followed Louie as he led myself and Lestat into the various rooms of their large apartment. It was huge, the inside was crafted larger than most houses I had ever seen. It had many different rooms and a few bathrooms. It was decorated quite similar to my own apartment, but not nearly as lavished- adorned with red and golds, various silvers.
We turned a corner and Louie held something in his hand as he stopped us. He then turned to me and handed me a brass key. "What's this for?" I questioned. "It's the key to the room you will be in while staying with Lestat and I." Louie asked for the key back and unlocked the door as he entered the room. Lestat and I followed. It was beautiful I had to admit, a similar theme was used to decorate this room.
"This is for me?" I asked hesitantly. The only reply I needed was a wiggle of eyebrows and a promiscuous trademark smirk from the blonde one. It made me quite uncomfortable to say the least. I found that Lestat himself made me uncomfortable and not just when he smirked or did subtle things like that. I was very attracted to him. I mean who wouldn't be, but I would not be one to stroke his already vast ego. Louie was also quite stunning, the word beautiful could be used to describe him. Lestat was also beautiful but not in the same sense that Louie was. Louie had an innocent beauty about him as Lestat was more of the tall, dark and handsome type- only blonde.
"How long do you suppose I should be staying with you both?" I asked unsure. "For however long you should need." Was Lestat's quick reply. I nodded and thanked them once more as they shut the door and left me with the brass key and to my own devices. I had no clothes I remembered. I was in a shirt that belonged to one of the men and some trousers. My hair was disheveled and was beginning to fall out of it's original up-do. I frowned and took it out, placing the ribbon I used to keep it in place on my wrist. I looked down and my shoes weren't even on my feet. I guess I hadn't noticed before. The man must have destroyed my dress when he tried to attack me, I do believe Louie mentioned it occurring. I must have left my shoes at the scene as well. I shrugged, maybe I could see if Louie would take me home later to get a few things. To be quite honest I had mixed feelings about staying any amount of time with the two men. I wanted to be at home and safe but at the same time I didn't want to be all alone. It made me feel vulnerable to another attack. Someone could attack me in my home next time and no one would ever know. At least being here with two men my chances of being attacked where slim to none, unless Louie or Lestat tried to harm me. They said they would never but they were still strangers to me and I couldn't fully trust them yet- genuine or not. I had to keep my guard up. I was actually quite surprised when they asked me to stay with them, scared but relieved to not be alone at the same time. For some strange reason they both unnerved me but made me feel safe nonetheless. I figured I would stay a few days and then continue on with my life and head for my apartment.
I opened my door and decided to go look for one of them. I could hear music coming from down the hall. I followed the sound hoping to find Louie or Lestat. It was Lestat I found sitting at the instrument playing a beautiful piece. Mozart I had guessed. I knocked on the frame of the entrance trying to get his attention. He saw me and stopped playing. Lestat stood up and cracked his hands as he waltzed over to me. "Looking for Louie, I suppose?" He said as he walked past me to a liquor cabinet and took out a bottle of what I perceived as wine. I shrugged. "I was looking for him or you, I wanted to ask one of you something."
"And what would that be?" He asked with a devilish smile. He sipped his wine as he awaited my question. "I have no clothes or shoes. I wanted to see if one of you would accompany me to my home to retrieve some of my effects?" I asked sincerely. He looked at me and waved me over to him.
"Follow me." He said as he began to walk."Louie is in his room, follow me and we can ask him." I followed as we came to a large wood door. Lestat knocked three times before he opened it without answer. "Louie... Louie.. Come out come out.. I have need of you... Louis.." To this Lestat received no reply. "I guess he's not here, I'm unsure of where he went this late at night. If you wish I could take you home?" I nodded and thanked him. "Just let me grab a coat." He said as he ran off to another room. I waited by the door for him. He came back with the same key I have tried to get from him when I woke up. He saw me looking at it and smiled. "You know why we have this right?" He asked me." To keep me from running away when I woke up." Was my reply. He laughed a little and shook his head. "No, no, you misunderstand. It was for that reason and because we don't want anyone getting in here and trying to harm us or rob us. You are here if you should want to be here. And if you should feel the need to leave, you are welcome to. Never will you be a prisoner here. I want you to know that." As he said this it was then I realized this had been the first time I had ever talked to Lestat in a serious tone. Whenever I spoke to him he was either being incredibly sarcastic or smirking. I looked Into his eyes and I could feel the seriousness in them. He was not joking and I was relieved. I placed a hand on his forearm and said, "Thank you for saving my life and inviting me into your home, it means a lot Lestat." I removed my hand and reached for the now unlocked door. Lestat swatted my hand away lightly, I turned to him for an explanation. Lestat held up a second jacket and a pair of boots. I nodded as he motioned for me turn around, my back to him. He slid the garment over me and told me to turn back as he looked at me. "A little big for you but it should keep you warm when we go out there." He then handed me a pair of dark brown, men's boots. I put them on, they were quite big on me, naturally. I smiled as he linked arms with me and locked the door back. We made our way towards my home.
