••Grey's Point of View••

"Are you sure she's your mate?" The alpha voiced definatly annoyed.

"Yes father. I could tell as soon as I saw her in the van when we grabbed her the other day. And when I walked in the room this morning, I could see in her eyes that she knew. And then I regretted all what I did to her. I mean I hurt my only mate."

"Quit. I don't want to hear your little sob story." He stopped. I waited for him to speak again, as I knew he was not through. "You can't have her till we get what we need. Therefore, if you can get her to crack and tell us what we need to know, then she's all yours."

"Dad has anyone even tried asking her yet?" I doubted it. I didn't come from the smartest pack. Honestly I sometimes felt as though I was the only one who actually used my brain in this whole damn pack.

"You realize I can hear your thoughts right? Don't call your Alpha dumb. I don't give a damn if you are my son. And no. We have not asked her, she just woke, you've been with her almost the whole time, you should know."

"Okay I'll go back and ask her later today. I want to give her a chance to clam down first."

"That's fine. Report back to me as soon as you do. And keep her fed. We need her alive and to trust us if we want any answers anytime soon. You're offically in charge of this problem, so she's you're problem now."

"Yes, sir." And with that I left his office and headed down to the kitchen. Not really fair to put this on me as he started the problem, but I did feel better being the one watching my mate even if it wasn't under good circumstances.

"Nadine. Do you think you could make, umm, the girl something?" I need to learn her name, why dont I know her name yet.

"Yes Grey. Anything for you." Nadine, our pack cook, has had a thing for my since neither of us could find our mates before, but now that I have a mate, I need to encourage her to move on.

"Thanks. Just tell me when it's done and I'll take it up to her."

"Yes Grey, of course sir," she smiled and I turned and walked to the couch.

I grabbed my tray of food and my mates, since I decided we could eat together as we talk over the matters my dad left in my hands.

I grabbed the door handle and walked in. Her eyes were closed and she didn't budge. I assumed she was asleep, she's probably exhausted and in pain. I sat both trays on the small bed side table and sat next to her on the bed. I whispered to her, sorrow present in my voice, "I wish we didn't have to meet like this." She moved a bit making me think she was waking. But she calmed again and stayed still. "If it makes you feel any better, I'd let you go if I had the choice. Even if it meant losing you, as long as your happy. I hope you'll come to forgive me though. But they'd kill you if you leave now. And I can't have that happen."

"Who's they?" She cut me off. I could sense panic in her voice.

"My pack. Are you hungry? I brought food." A sudden feeling of discomfort flushed over my body as I could sense her sadness. I stood up to untie her hands once again. This time I made sure the door was locked first.

"Don't change the subject. I want to know what you meant." She sat up as I finished untying her. She rubbed her wrist, since they were understandably sore.

"Sorry." I paused to think of how I was going to tell her this. "My pack is the ones who killed your mother. You're Luna."

"I don't know anything about my family's pack or yours though. Why am I involved in this?" Clear confusion spread across her face.

"Please don't lie to me. Alphas orders to ask you. The faster we get through this, the faster you're free. Other wise we have to keep you locked up. After you tell us it's your choice on staying or leaving."

"Why would I be aloud to leave?"

"Once again, Alphas order goes. If he says you can go after, we let you."

"Oh okay. Well I honestly don't know anything." She paused and just looked at me. I looked back sympathetically. "Okay what's the real question you were sent to ask?"

"Where did Alpha Devan take our Luna?" I tried to ask in a stren manner so she'd take me seriously.

She jumped back shocked. A look of horror spread across her face. "My dad is dead. Your pack took both our Alpha and Luna. Our pack fell apart. I left, even though I was the Luna at that point, I couldn't handle that responsibility. It was six years ago. I was only fourteen, I left and became a rouge. I've tired to live a seemingly regular life since, keep my head down and stay of out this life because it was too hard to remember them."

"No your father took Luna Nyla. She went missing the same day our pack took your Luna."

"How dare you, my father was a good man. He did not take Luna Nyla. He would never do such a thing. And he would never abandon me if he had a say in it. Quit accusing him of things he did not do. It's your pack that's bad, not mine!" She was basically yelling at me by the end if her statement. I wanted to hold her and just calm her down, but she was already on edge and I did not want to make it worse. I didnt want to push her to reject me as her mate.

"Okay. Okay. Honestly, I know my pack isn't a great pack, but I'd like to know weather my mom is dead or not." Confusion replaced the anger in her face. She looked at me as though she was a lost puppy and I wasn't sure why. "What?"

"What do you mean, 'your mom'?" She bitterly asked.

"My mother, our Luna."

"My mates going to be a Alpha?" I laughed as her hand shot over her mouth. "I didn't mean to say that out loud. It was a dumb question."

"It's okay. Your cute when you're confused." She looked down bashfully. "Hey, look at me, please." As she brought her head back up I brought my face closer to hers. Only a small space of air separating our two lips from grazing each other. I really wanted to kiss her, but I didnt want to rush her and scare her off. She pulled back and looked back down to the bed. "I'm sorry. I dont want to hurt you more than I have."

"Jerk." She scoffed, playfulness present in her tone, but annoyance written on her face.

"I'm sorry, darling." I smirked at her, I could see she wanted me but she was trying hard to resist.

"No your not. And don't call me that."

"Oh darling, I can call you what ever name I please, I'm the alpha, not you." I stopped, rose off the bed, and went to my chair. "And whatever name I chose to call you, you will like." She sighed in annoyance and defeat. "Now beautiful, what's your real name?"

"Holland." She stated and started eating. I kept trying to ask her question but she wouldn't respond.

I just wanted to hold her and apologize and promise her nothing would hurt her ever again. I couldn't though. I needed answers for my father or she'd be dead and I could not live with the emptiness in my heart now that I have met her. The bond of a mate is stronger than any bond ever. Even though she's mad at me right now, I dont ever want to leave her side.
