She woke up with a sudden start. "Why?", she thought to herself. All the chaos that was eating her on the inside came crashing down on her, suffocating her, till her eyes stung and she could feel the salty tears forming in her mouth. Her head was blasting and her body was throbbing. She let go of all strings that held her together the whole day like a puppet. She let her mask slip off.

She let the tears find their way, slowly, then all at once. She broke down, weak and tired. All she desperately wanted was to find a way out, a way for all this to end.The sour voices of the demons inside her head whispered,"You're weak, you're good for nothing".The voices and the words made her wince, but she believed them despite herself.

She was exhausted by this daily rigmarole. She was tired of acting like everything was alright. She was tired of breaking down in the shower so that no one could hear her. She was tired of waiting for everyone to fall asleep so that she could break down and repair herself by morning. Nothing that she did was ever enough to please anybody and she had lost faith in herself ages ago.

"If only they knew what it's like", she mused to herself, shaking her head. She thought her life was empty, void of all happiness. Her mind was a chaos, a beautiful one indeed. But all that was left of her now was a faint wisp of hope, that was slowly ebbing away.

She couldn't continue with the demons inside her, but they grew stronger with each passing day, eating her soul from the inside, making her weaker with each passing day, in turn. "You're never going to make it", they roared.

Then she realised that she couldn't go on like this anymore. She decided this has to end.  Meekly mumbling a prayer she never believed in, she thought of all the people for whom she cared. Cared a little too much maybe. She thought of that one person that flipped her world upside down.

Brushing away her tears, she reached for the blade. Tiny, yet so destructive. The cool metal of the blade felt sickening against her warm skin. Gathering all that it took of her, she slashed herself. Her wrists, her arms, her legs. Doubling over with pain, she slashed till she could slash no longer. With trembling hands, she unscrewed a bottle of pills and gulped it all at once. She collapsed on her bed and cried one last, final time. That night, she breathed her last. That night was the end.
