I woke up to the aroma of breakfast cooking. I sat up and realized I was still at Rita's spot. I'm not even gonna lie, when Toy takes AJ, I spend my time over here. We be chillin, vibing, and legit enjoying each other's company. I got up and went to use the bathroom and wash my hands and my face. Afterwards, I walked into the kitchen and walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her while she was standing at the stove. "You sleep good?" she asked me as she flipped the pancakes in the pan. "Of course I did." I said as I stole a piece of bacon from the plate she had them resting on. "I know. I figured you might appreciate a good meal this morning." she said as she turned to face me and I watched as a smile crept upon her face. "I mean I had an excellent one last night." I said as I smiled back and she laughed. "I mean you definitely made it seem like it was good to you." she said as she licked her lips. "And was! That's why I made sure I slurped up every last drop." I said as I thought back to how I had her going last night. "That you did." she said softly. "But I think you might've felt like you had no other choice after your soul became mine." she said as she kissed my cheek. She ain't lying though. "These are facts. You can hold that." I said as I sat down at the island on the other side. "I planned on it." she said as we locked eyes for a minute. She plated my food and then slid it across the table to me and went and poured me some orange juice. "Here you are." she said. As she began to make her own plate and came and sat down next to me. "Thank you." I said to her and she grabbed my hand and said grace. I loved that about her, like she literally had an old soul and was damn near perfect for real. "Why you looking at me like that?" she asked as she took a bite of her food. "I'm just wondering in my head like how it took us this long to meet." She laughed a little bit. "You probably wouldn't have been checking for me." she said as she glanced at me. "What makes you think that?" I asked her. "With all of the girls that were literally throwing themselves at you, I'm sure you were preoccupied with all that." she said calmly. "You're only partially right. Yeah there were plenty of girls that threw themselves at me, and it was cool for a minute. But I never took any of them seriously. I always looked to lock down the ones that weren't impressed by anything they heard or anything they assumed would be to come. I mean I've only been in 2 relationships for real because quality has always mattered to me. And the reason I'm here with you, is because I see yours." I said to her. "Point taken, but you sure I'm not the girl to build you back up after things began falling apart?" "I would never reduce you to that. I wish I could define what this is right here, but I know for a fact, I want to protect that. Rita, I don't have no ill intentions or ulterior motives. What we build is real and I don't wanna just lose that." I said to her. "Likewise, but realistically only one of us have another situation though, so I'm being cautious." I can't even be mad at that, but when I say I haven't even thought about Toya in this sense at all. I been stuck on her, ever since that day. "She might be a situation, but she's not a factor. I don't want you thinking that I treat you both the same way, because I don't. No disrespect, I love Toya, she's the mother of my child and we are successfully co-parenting. However, what we got going on isn't in addition to anything I have going on with her, it's separate. Business is one thing, personal is another." I told her. "I hear you. Also, don't get me wrong Anthony, it's great spending time with you and I like you and everything, but I don't really know how this is supposed to go for real." she said as she took a sip of her juice and looked into my eyes. "I wish I had an answer for that myself, but honestly, I don't. But what I can tell you is this: I love spending time with you. You have a vibe that is unmatched and I'm not just saying that. Our first conversation and each one since then has just flowed naturally. Like we've just been attracted to each other like a moth to a flame. I couldn't fake this even if I wanted to. I'm just asking you to bear with me." I said to her and she nodded her head. I grabbed her hands and came and brought her over to my lap. "Listen, I wish we could've started differently, because I don't even want you to have any of this as a thought in your mind. I hate that." "It's okay, you literally told me the truth from day one though. It was my choice." she said. "True, but I don't want you to regret that choice either." "I don't. I also don't think that I would, because it's been really nice to be honest." "Good, because I can't see me regretting a single minute either. Like I'll be real, I do have feelings for you. And of course that grows each and every day. I just want to finish off things the correct way without it becoming an issue in your life." "I appreciate that." she said before she placed a kiss on my neck, fuck! "Fuck this breakfast, I'm trying to eat you." I told her and she smiled as I picked her ass up and put her on the counter and I just knew in my head, she wasn't ready.
