"Leila senator Burke called while you were gone" my mother said as she walked into my room, "what did he want?" I asked confused.
"He said to come to city hall he has a surprise for college" she smiled, "oh okay" I said.
I drove over to city hall with the sound of one directions act my age blasting through the radio.
I walked into the city halls doors seeing it very calm since it was a Sunday.
"Hey I'm here to see senator Burke" I said to the secretory, "oh ms. James he's in Mel's office" she smiled. I mouthed thank you as she took a call.
I walked over to Mel's office and knocked
"Come in" I heard him say, I turned the knob and walked into the office seeing a chair.
"I've been expecting you" senator Burke said as he turned the business chair slowly like in the movies. "Okay so what is that you want?" I asked confused.
"I want you to leave Ryder" he said.
My eyes widen by what he said, "why?" I asked. "I don't see my favorite grandson with somebody with your brilliance when the city of Toledo needs you" he said.
"What do you mean?" I asked confused, "why don't you see for yourself" he said sliding a brown envelope to me. I walked toward him and picked up the envelope.
I opened it and read the black ink.
"If I leave Ryder I get to be city council when I finish school?" I asked shocked by what I read.
"It's simple Toledo needs you after college while Ryder probably will forget you after a couple of weeks" he smirked.
"So take it?" He asked, "but Ryder loves me" I said thinking about Ryder's warm smile.
"Leila he has said that to many girls you're just like all his exes" he said, "I thought I was special" I said confused.
"Forgot to tell you that the other plus was that you get to work with New yorks council and get paid during college years" he smiled.
"That's amazing" I said breathless by what he offered me.
"Now choose your dream life or spending your life with Ryder who will probably break up with you when he leaves for the navy again" He asked, I bit my lip and gave a sad sigh not knowing what to say.
