Mom was at work. Dad left years ago. Now it's just me. I hate being alone. She knows this. Harper, my cat, was sat at the foot of my bed but she's a cat. She can't do anything. It was Thursday and Mom had the nightshift at the bank. My bed was covered in textbooks and loose papers. Why'd it have to be finals week. Reaching down to the floor underneath the end of my bed I nudged Harper's side and she purred lowly at me.
"Oh hush," I say. I scoot to the side grabbing my laptop and bringing it back to where I was sat criss-cross earlier. Opening my laptop, the screen showed life as my screensaver showed up. After entering my password the Instagram window from this morning opened and I saw the unfinished comment on Kristina's post. "Whoops" I say to myself.
I sigh and think "Well, break time." I exit out and scroll through my feed for a few minutes when I get a direct message from her.
thx for the comment :(: xx love you too !! I laughed at my laptop and replied, shut up loser you know i love you <3 I smiled at my screen one more time and began scrolling through my old my messages. All the usual random ones were there, the messages to friends, the digital love letters, to about every boy band member out there, and the 64 week old message I sent to Chase Goehring a little over a year ago. I read it and mentally slapped myself in the face. God I was an idiot.
hey chase i love you so so so so much <3 Shaking my head I deleted the message. The twitter notification popped up on the top right of my screen.
chasegoehring: I haven't posted a selfie here in a while but with the little monkey emoji. Attached to the tweet was a photo link. Clicking it, another window popped up and twitter opened. He's so cute.
"That's a bright purple you got going on there" I say, because my screen can totally understand me. I exited out of the window after retweeting the picture. Your welcome timelines. Returning to Instagram I opened up a new message. Typing in Chase to try and find his account, I started by using a picture of some random tree just to have an image. I typed.
kieraluvs: hey chase, i know for a fact you won't see this but i wanted to let you know I'm going to PressPlay when it comes to a city near me, hopefully it does. anyways just dropping by to say hi. and if you read my last message i apologize now. i was weird. ok well have a nice day.
I ended it off with a heart emoji. Well, that was pointless. I close the window and get back to my homework. Opening up my biology text book my laptop made a noise. I opened my laptop back up, making sure I didn't miss a tweet. The usual notification window popped up. Exactly in the place it was supposed to be in. The sound was the same. I read the post. It wasn't twitter.
chasegoehring: hi
