Sunrises and New Friends

I was cold when I woke up on Saturday morning. I could hear everybody in the room snoring and I quietly got out of bed. This was my favorite time of the day, right when the sun was about to come up. It was nice and peaceful.

I slipped on a pair of shoes and hurried out of the room. I rushed out of the common room and went to my favorite spot in the school. I arrived at my destination quickly and looked out quietly. The breeze felt good against my face and I sighed.

The sky was illuminated with oranges, yellows, and pinks. The sun was rising slowly into the sky and I smiled. I could hear someone's footsteps behind me and I turned around.

A girl was standing there. She had medium length platinum blonde hair and green eyes. She was wearing a large grey shirt and plaid red pants. Her feet were barefoot and she had a blanket covering her shoulders. Even though it was morning, she looked stunning and I suddenly felt very self- conscious.

She gave me a smile and said hoarsely, "Do you mind if I join you?"

"Um.. Sure," I said. I moved more to the side so she could see the sunrise nicely.

"Thanks," she said as she walked towards me.

We stood there quietly and I was surprised that it wasn't awkward. When the sun had finally risen she smiled brightly. I continued to look at her and she turned towards me.

"Haven't people ever told you that it's rude to stare?" she said sarcastically.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to," I said and turned away.

"Don't worry it's fine. I was only joking. I'm Lucy," she said and stuck out her hand.

"I'm Dominique," I said and shook her hand firmly.

Her hands were soft and I didn't want to let go but I did. She smiled at me and said, "Oh right. That's where I have seen you. You're one of the chasers on the Gryffindor team!"

"Ya, you have the same name as my cousin. Except you two look nothing alike. She has bright red hair like me," I said.

Why did I just say that? What an idiotic thing to say. Now she would think I'm some weirdo. But she laughed, "Oh good. You won't get me confused with her now."

I smiled and asked, "So, what house are you in? I've never seen you around."

She looked at me uncertainly and said, "Well I'm in Slytherin. But trust me, I'm not an evil fucker. I'm just a bitch."

I laughed at this and said, "Don't worry I don't have anything against your house. Except for the fact that you guys are fucking amazing at quidditch. It's quite the challenge for our team to beat yours."

She smiled and said, "It's hard for everyone to beat our house. We're just that good. Like we're fucking amazing, we own the pitch."

She laughed and I laughed with her. She had the most beautiful sounding laugh I had ever heard. After we had finished laughing, she said, "So how is it being related to the most famous wizard of all time. Besides Merlin of course."

"Eh... it's alright. We don't see Harry very often. Only every Sunday at Grandma's when I'm not at school. His kids are annoying as hell tho, so I don't mind not seeing him," I said.

She laughed a bit and said, "Well that fucking sucks. I was hoping you'd have some crazy ass story about all your adventures with your uncle."

I laughed and said, "Nah, I don't. You'd have to ask one of his kids."

"Well damn. So do you have any siblings?" she said and looked at me curiously.

"Ya, two. One older, one younger. They're both at Hogwarts," I said.

"Cool, I have siblings to, but they don't have magic, so I'm the only one that goes to this school," Lucy said.

"Oh, you're Muggleborn! That's way cool. I kind of wish I was muggleborn," I said.

"Ya, it's cool. I get the best of both worlds, eh?" she said and laughed slightly.

"So what year are you?" I said. I was guessing a 6th year like me, but I didn't know.

"I'm in my 6th year, you?" she said.

"Also a 6th year. Thank God, cause my sister tells me there is a ton of pressure being a 7th year, and I don't excel in school," I said and laughed.

She smiled at me and said, "Oh, well if you need any help with any subject I'd be willing to help. Not to sound full of myself, but I do pretty well in school."

"Oh well thanks. I'll ask you for help when I need it," I said and smiled.

She nodded and grabbed out her phone. "Oh damn it. I need to go. It was nice talking to you Dominique! Let's get together sometime, okay?" Lucy said.

Lucy quickly turned away and headed back down the hall. Hopefully I'd see her again. I turned back towards the sky and smiled.
