"JASON GET UP YOU LOSER IT'S MY BIRTHDAY NOW MAKE ME PANCAKES!!" I shout at my older brother. Today is my 16th birthday and I am very excited about that.

"Samantha, I swear to God if you don't get off me and stop shouting, I'm going to rip your throat out. I'll make you some pancakes after I shower. Now GET. OUT."

Satisfied with the answer I received, I smile and skip out of his room. I wait outside his room to make sure he gets up and showers.

"Samantha, I know you're outside my door. I'm getting up you little twerp." He calls from his room. I hear the water turn on from his bathroom.

I skip to my room down the hall and grab my clothes to shower as well. After my water was warm enough, I jumped in and did my showerly duties. I didn't realize how long I was in the shower until my mother started banging on the door.

"Honey, you've been in there for almost 30 minutes! Your brother is done making your breakfast, now please come down!"

"OK mom! Be there in 5!" I shout back switching the water off and grabbing my towel. I jump out and walk in my room to change.

"What to wear on my big day..." I think as I skim through my closet. I settle with my black pocket t-shirt, and ripped light wash denim jeans. Grabbing my socks, I hope down the stairs.

"Oomf" I hear my brother say as I hop on his back.

"Thank you so much for breakfast Jay!!" My mouth salivates as I hop off looking at all the food. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, and toast were all on a plate for me. I was about to go back into the kitchen when my brother handed me my favorite tea.

"Almost forgot. Just the way you like it sis" Jason says kissing the top of my head, "now just cause you're 16 doesn't mean I'm letting you be all grown up now. You're my baby sister so even after you find your mate, I'm going to keep a very close eye on you two." Jason says. He walks out grabbing a piece of my bacon and chuckles at my glare I shoot to him.

I finish eating and bound up the stairs to finish getting ready. Since my hair was dry already, all I had to do was brush it then straighten it. I search for my makeup bag but can't find it anywhere.

"Mom!! Have you seen my makeup bag?" I shout going downstairs to see her talking to someone at the table. Its a women. She looks oh too familiar but I can't place where I've seen her from. She fully turns and smiles. Its my cousin Stephanie.

"Hey Sammy, you miss me?" She shoots me her dazzling smile standing up. I run and hug her almost crying.

"Where have you been?! Its been 3 years!! I haven't seen you since you left to college!!" I look at her and see she's tearing up.

"Well I couldn't miss your big day! Now sit down and let's pretty your face up" and that's when I notice my makeup and more on the table behind her.

"If you make me look like a 40 layer cake, I'm going to kick your butt Steph" we share a laugh and I sit down. 15 minutes later, I look hot. A neutral smokey eye with a slight winged liner and rosey cheeks.

"Let me do your lipstick now" she's about to put it on when I stop her.

"I need to brush my teeth first" I bound up the stairs and brush my teeth. I grab my red flannel and white high-top vans slipping them on going back down.

"Ready now?" I nod in response as she places the red lipstick upon my lips. I take a final look before I smile and hug her really tight.

"Thank you so much Steph, I love it!!" She smiles and my brother walks in telling me we have to go.

"Jason." Stephanie glares

"Stephanie." Jason glares back.

Silence settles over us all before everyone laughs. Jason and Stephanie hug before they say goodbye.

"Come on Sam, we gotta get to school. Bye mom, bye Steph. See ya later!" We walk out waving goodbye and head to Jason's truck.

"Ready birthday girl?"

"As ready as I'll ever be butt brain"
