LEX. |6 - something cool in my cup..

We sat in silence as we watched Lo slam the phone shut. Braidyn jumped in the air and screamed.

"Your not pregnant?!" She asked with excitement.

Lo shook her head from side to side smiling, as the tears of joy rolled down her face. I stood up and hugged her as tight as I could. She pulled her hood down and her full features were visible. She wiped the tears away as Braidyn stood by my side.

"I," she began. "want to thank you two. I," she cleared her throat. "I know we don't know eachother that well. But you still managed to be here for me when you didn't have to," another batch of tears formed in her eyes. "and that shows me that ya'll are true friends." Tears of happiness and joy rolled down her face as she smiled and began to cry in relief. I looked at Braidyn as I watched tears swarm her eyes and fall like leaves from a tree. She looked at me and smiled and quickly wiped them away.

Lo laughed and wiped away the remainder of Braidyn's tears. "Im sorry," she said laughing. "I wasn't trying to make you cry." She laughed lightly.

Braidyn shook her head and smiled. "Its okay," she said with hesitation. "I'm fine.."

Her words trailed off as if wanting to say more. I stared at my friend of many years and the happiness that I felt for Lo was quickly washed away with an uneasy feeling. Something is wrong, I thought to myself. Lo looked at me and took notice to my expression, quickly hideing it, I smiled at her softly.

"We should celebrate." I said quickly.

"We should." Braidyn chimed in.

"What is there to do around here Lo? Any place you want to go, your choice." She smiled at my comment.

"Whats today?" She asked. I frowned trying to remember, Braidyn checked her phone.

"Its Thursday." She said with confirmation. Lo thought to her self then smiled a sneaky smile. She gathered her things and pulled her hoodie back over her head. She began to make her way to the door. Stopping at the door, she turned around and smiled again.

"Be ready by 9:30pm."  She said and quickly disappeared into the warm air. The door slammed behind her and left me and Braidyn in silence. I stared at her with question on my face. She stared back with an uneasy expression, walking passed me she made her way towards the back of the apartment.

"Going to go look for something to wear. Cause if I don't do it now, 9:30 for us will be 11:30." She disappeared down the hall and into her room. The door slammed behind her, the uneasy feeling poured out of me and coated the air. I couldn't leave this one alone, not today.

I knocked lightly on Braidyn's bedroom door. "Come in." She called from behind it. Opening it slowly I saw her standing infront of her mirror starring at her black pumps that protected her feet.

"Those are bad." I said softly.

She smiled at me then looked back at the mirror, tilting her head to the side. I sat on her bed, tucking my leg under my butt. She disappeared into her closet then came back out with another heel on. She danced in the mirror for 2 minutes before sighing in fustration. She threw the heels off and wiggled her toes on the carpet.

"Braidyn.." I asked softly.

She looked up with the same uneasy expression as before.

"What was that about?" I said quietly.
